Looks to be a single slot MVS board, and that price is okay. I probably paid around $75 shipped for my MV-1B.

Typically speaking, one slot boards are JAMMA standard (although i've never seen the model of board that you have pictured, so it could be different) which means it should work in any standard JAMMA cabinet (the vast majority of cabinets). Multi-slot boards require special wiring, and without changing the wiring a bit, are really only made for Neo-Geo Multi-slot cabinets.

You can't plug in neo geo sticks natively. You could have the board consolized so that it has TV outputs and can have controllers plugged into it, or you can get (or build) a supergun, which is a device made to run arcade boards on a television. The supergun is the better option if you think you might get into more arcade PCB's.

I had a look on hardMVS.com and since, to me, it looks like the carts go in vertically, it could be a MVS-1C, though it's the first time I've ever really looked at this stuff so I could be wrong.

Do people sell cloned MVS systems, the way you can get Famiclones?

Yeah, I looked around and that's an MV-1C, so it is JAMMA standard.

There are bootlegs out there, so I guess reproductions are more than possible, but I wouldn't know how to check. I guess the Jamma connector on the 1c should be tinned contacts and not gold? I'm not sure how reliable that is though.

Boots/Repros will have problems running some games. You may have better luck grabbing a board from a member on the Neo-Geo forums.

You can get the 161-1 multi-cart from aliexpress for about $85 shipped, it's the best multi-cart on the market currently. There are always a couple titles that have issues w/a games. KoF2003, some of the Metal Slugs or Sam Sho's, etc.

You can get a cheap, bare bones, consolized MVS for about $200.
You can get a mid-road w/decent encasement and s-video for about $350.
You can get higher end from Jamma Nation X or shadowknwn55 (the Omega) for about $500.
Or you can get elite end for $700+ (Analogue Interactive).

If you plan to get an actual Candy Cab - $500-1,500 depending on model and your location.

If you plan to get a Neo Cab - $300-$800 or so, again depending on where you live and what's included.

If you do plan on a neo cab, I wouldn't buy a motherboard or multi-cart now as they are quite often included with the cab.

yeah. You didn't know? That's why I consider NGPC to be DC's little sister. Certain games linked up and opened up bonus stuff. The KOF games on DC & NGPC for instance. Or Cool Cool Toon and Cool Cool Jam.

remember when I told you a week ago to buy one? Well look at you. You're a week older, wishing you had one.
