Little off topic, but anyone watching American Horror Story Coven? I just started watching it after hearing some guy talk about it on a Walking Dead podcast. It's pretty damn awesome. And they had zombies on there too.

I never saw the first two seasons, but this season seems to have a stand alone story. Apparently, that's what the show does every season

The intro for this show is BADASS:

the first season was the shit. the second season was a little slow in the beginning but got better. haven't seen the 3rd yet, it's on my dvr. alot of the same actors are in all the seasons although their roles change of course.

I'll need to check out the earlier seasons when this one's done. Season 3 hooked me in quick. Every time I finished an episode I immediately wanted to start the next one. I finished episode 6 tonight.

The show is well paced and genuinely surprising. There are aspects of the show that are kind of over the top, but the show totally owns it and it's fun. It plays around with certain horror tropes in a fun way. They have all these crazy camera angles and camera tricks they use too, which gives the show a certain off kilter, kind of crazy feel. The music plays into that too. The show just has a certain style to it that I like. It's very bold and in your face, rarely going for subtlety, but out right shocks instead. And it usually pulls them off well. The show also has a certain black humor to it too that I really like and some great actresses

Everything you mentioned being good about it is true. I can say that because you didn't mention the writing. The writing is abysmal. Yet I'm watching this season while the previous two didn't interest me, though they had superior writing. But god, the story makes no sense. At all. None of it. The characters behave rationally literally 0% of the time.

I think American Horror Story just exists in a more exaggerated version of reality. The characters certainly aren't normal and rational and neither is the world they live in. That's part of the fun for me. The show is a little over the top with things, including people's behavior and the audience is just expected to either be on board with that or not. Nobody on the show is going to act like anyone I know in real life and I'm not really expecting them to.

The show has a certain melodrama to it that works
That was a pretty good episode, loved it. I lmao when black dude got a bullet shot right through him but daryl picks up a decaying, rotting zombie to use as a sheild and the same AK's, AR's, .45 cal rifles they dump in the thing and nothing goes through. That's just nitpicking though. Is herschel's head a bitter now, lol?
Guess they answered that.

Quite a yawner for an opener.

So basically we get a soft reboot and it looks like each band of characters will have their own episode. Rick is still making dumb decisions to the point that I believe the writers may be screwing with us.

And carl is pretty dam defenseless without a gun. Carry a dam knife or something.

So dragging a few zombies around lets you walk unnoticed in a herd? Is that how it works? Not bashing the show, i just don't how she can do that.
