What kind of education is she receiving? when I was in preschool, we played with clay, played outside and learned to tie our shoes....also did a sketch for our parents.Luke wrote:Perplexed: My niece is going to a pre-school, only three days a week, and half days at that. So dumb math says around twelve hours of actual "education". Dumb math also says my Sister is paying nearly $200 per hour for this service.
There is one "educator" per ten 3-year old kids.
My fellow entrepreneurs, pre-school is a cash cow.

The website shows kids looking at butterflies under microscopes, solving basic math and short division, painting family portraits and dusting fossils. Of course I'm only joking, these kids still crap their pants.BogusMeatFactory wrote: What kind of education is she receiving? when I was in preschool, we played with clay, played outside and learned to tie our shoes....also did a sketch for our parents.
With some crazy voodoo they apparently can teach your three year old "life skills".
Who knows? Might be something great. Not that I have my doubts...

3 sounds a little young to be in school.
I will be sending my daughter to pre-K - at the public school. It's simply one grade before kindergarten, ages 4-5, a half-day.

Huh? My birthday was close to the cut off point to roll into the next year, but I started kindergarten right after I turned 4. Are you age confused sir, or have school start ages gone crazypants over the years?BoneSnapDeez wrote:3 sounds a little young to be in school.

You can start kindergarten at age 4 here, as long you as you turn 5 by a certain date in October (I forget the exact date). You cannot start kindergarten "right after you turn 4."

This should all be in the do you have children thread, eh?
Frown: While my wife was washing dishes during her "dog duty", and she didn't hear Ripley leave the room and walk upstairs. She did however hear her fall down them. Poor dog. Ripley was at the bottom the stairs, unable to get back up and had the "Help me out Dad" look in her eyes. Looks like I'll have to be the constant watchdog of watching the dog.
Since I'll more than likely be having a late night out, I brought Ripley's crate back indoors. I'll let my wife out of it once she apologizes for not keeping an eye on Ripley.

My 7 year old is in 2nd grade and the 5 year old is in Kindergarten. They both did 2 years of preschool. At 3 they went for 2 days a week(tue/thurs) half day. At 4 years old they did 3 days(mon/wed/fri)half days.
