I recently purchased Rocksmith 2014 and was disappointed to discover that it doesn't work properly with an HDMI cable due to audio lag.
One suggestion in the instructions was to use component cables with an external (non-television) audio source.
Official Sony PS3 component cables are difficult to find - I haven't seen them in stores, and Amazon prices are killer.
Anyone have any third-party recommendations? Any Rocksmith owners have tips for alternative set-ups or configurations?

Oh sure, there is room for Rocksmith but only $5 for Ballz!?!?
Also, what kind of TV are you using, is this a 240hz issue or something?
*edit*

I'm guessing you completely skipped playing any rhythm game on a high difficulty on a HDTV, for its a technical issue and a dumb reason to not buy Rocksmith. Hell, I had setup 1 in that link just for playing Rock Band 2 because lag is a problem.
The lag between the audio and video using HDMI can be tricky to calibrate due to the digital nature of the format. Analog audio is easier to calibrate because there is no decoding, and its usually easier to sync it up with digital video as it his very little lag on the audio side.

Ive only ever played Guitar Hero and i didnt care for it, not a fan of rhythm games.

For the record, Rocksmith is not a rhythm game. It allows you to hook an actual guitar (or a bass in my case) to a console or PC. There's a bunch of tutorials and whatnot.

Can't you use PS2 component cables on a PS3?

True, it's a music game, but the technical issues are very much the same as far as video/audio sync.BoneSnapDeez wrote:For the record, Rocksmith is not a rhythm game. It allows you to hook an actual guitar (or a bass in my case) to a console or PC. There's a bunch of tutorials and whatnot.
My Rocksmith setup is on a 360, but the audio is run through an external stereo system and video through HDMI. Which it still has lag (mostly due to it be processed by the console) it is more enjoyable than running everything through HDMI.
Can't you just run HDMI video plug a composite audio cable (same one used since the ps1?) It's the better setup and easier than buying component cables.

Should be able to, or the same could be done with HDMI video + optical audio (I know that works because it's the setup I used before I got an HDMI-compatible receiver).lwcook wrote: Can't you just run HDMI video plug a composite audio cable (same one used since the ps1?) Why is it that official PS component cables are so hard to come by? I tried finding some myself because the cheap generic ones I bought are a little flimsy.
