7. Toys - Still super bizarre, but I really like the scene where Cuba Gooding Jr is introduced.
uh...he's not in that movie. LL Cool J's camo is good, but it isn't that good.

In any case I ADORE Toys and its dark, surrealist humor. There are few if any Robin Williams films I watched more often in my teens...

You are right, I dont know why I wrote Cuba when I meant LL Cool J. If you have never seen the movie before and are not expecting it it is an awesome scene that brings a smile to me everytime. It is not my favorite surrealist film, but it is on the list. But everytime I spent the first half of the film looking up bumpercar shells on ebay. One day I will build a parade legal bumpercar. One day.

One of the greatest heist films ever made with one of the greatest heist sequences, Rififi is a film that all fans of noir, crime, and French cinema should watch. It tracks everything about a jewelry heist, from the plotting to the execution, to the bloody aftermath as rival gangsters who want in on the action move in on the four thieves and their loved ones. It's also an excellent response to director Jules Dassin's blacklisting by Hollywood during the McCarthy years.
Rififi is boss. I love that movie. Great choice!

New one from Terry Gilliam starring Christopher Waltz, looks super trippy!

Interesting analysis. I felt like his story was actually quite relevant to the core concept of the movie, which I thought was that relationships from the past can never just be picked up where they left off. The same thing can be said of the guy trying to travel back in time. Maybe I just enjoyed the writer character and his comedic relief, but I felt like his story enhanced the overall theme of the movie.

Singer has some serious melons. Have you guys looked at the costume designs for DAYS OF FUTURE PAST? Everything I've seen so far looks worse than cable access costumes, and I'm not saying the look won't work, but holy shnikes the guy has his work cut out for him.

The Sentinels are missing some of their iconic features, Quicksilver looks like a scrapped character from JSRF, Bishop's rifle looks like a toy, etc.

Singer is a genius, so we'll have to wait and see, but so far the visuals look pretty awful.

Fingers crossed the movie is great.
