I've made a couple purchases in the past few weeks. The first was a new 3DS along with Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. It also came with a copy of Paper Mario Sticker Star that I wasn't expecting, so that was a pleasant surprise. And I ended up redeeming an Amazon gift card so that helped offset the cost of buying a new one.

Yesterday I bought a used Sega Saturn with two controllers and a few games from someone who had posted about it on a local buy/sell/trade Facebook group I belong to. I paid $60 for the system, cables, 2 Controllers (the left shoulder button is missing from one), and 10 games.

He had told me that it needed a new battery, which I read is a common problem and an easy fix. But what he didn't tell me was that it didn't read game discs, which I came to find after I first tested it out. After more research, I found that cleaning and re-seating the ribbon cable that connects the disc drive to the motherboard can fix this. I opened it up, tried the fix, and decided to give the lens a cleaning too just in case. It's now working reliably and I'm just waiting for the replacement battery to arrive so I can start saving my games.

Always helps as a gamer and collector to be handy with repairs. If you can get your hands on some of the better games you'll really love the Saturn.
"Oh great, another box of useless sh*t."

Main Collection: http://connect.collectorz.com/users/ynj ... collection - Not looking to move anything on this list but would entertain offers.

Yeah, definitely. I've had to fix a few problems with used consoles before, so this wasn't anything too daunting, especially after finding a few guides that walked me through the process.

What games would you recommend for the Saturn? Are there any must-have titles? And how much does the average Saturn game go for now?

the answer to all three questions, in short, is "a lot."

Never has a 2 word answer been so hilariously accurate as this one.

Roads were a mess today but I managed to pop out to the 2 Tristate Pawn & Jewelry locations nearby. Hardly any game action though :P. One store did have a nice Gameboy with carrying case, official external battery pack, 3 games(wario blast, tetris, and some bugs bunny game), and a few manuals for $40 but I passed it up.

Only ended up with 2 games though.

However one of the stores installed a new cd rack up to display the massive inventory of cds they have and I found some great stuff.

posted over in the non gaming finds.

I just got back from Goodwill. I found some cheap good stuff. Can I get a price check on that arcade stick?
