It's crazy how many people I know are going to thrift stores and flea markets so they can find video games to only sell them on ebay or craigslist. I've done it before and still try to find stuff but I only find stuff to sell here to just get an extra 1.00 or 2.00 the most. I want to find people games here who can't find something in their area and see if I can find it here in Worcester ma and help anyone I can out.
Friend of mine I thought would never see was there buying n64 games and I asked him if he got a system and he was saying no that he was buying them to sell on ebay. We all have done this but I told him That I don't do it as much anymore because after I spent all day at thrift stores and waiting or trying to find games and no luck for a couple days then find a few games for a few dollars each like a castlevania for 3.00 where I wasted 20.00 in gas 6-12.00 in food/beverage and 4hrs of wasted time and frustration of finding nothing for two days then to only find a game like castlevania and sell it for 10.00 to make a 7.00 profit, it's not worth it anymore.
I also told him that our thrift stores in our area has friends that work there and they hook each other up and vendors who stay there all day so they can take the games for their tables at the flea markets

I'm having another one of those "I'm getting old" moments, or maybe it's an "oh shit, I'm an adult" moment. I just got the new shelves for my game room installed and it looks fantastic. Now I'm trying to find something for my Magic collection. Today it's spread across a large number of card boxes with very little organization. A real classy idea I had was to use a library card catalog to hold them all. I saw a few on eBay that are gorgeous but are local pickup only. Then I realized I've reached the point I can appreciate a nice looking piece of furniture.

I think as long as you aren't matching things up to fit a theme with each other (other than a fiction related one) you're still safe from adulthood.MrPopo wrote:Then I realized I've reached the point I can appreciate a nice looking piece of furniture.

I do have a soft spot for art deco. Except for the dining room. That has to be Colonial.MrPopo wrote:You mean like how Luke shops for furniture?Hobie-wan wrote:I think as long as you aren't matching things up to fit a theme with each other (other than a fiction related one) you're still safe from adulthood.MrPopo wrote:Then I realized I've reached the point I can appreciate a nice looking piece of furniture.

It's Saturday at 11:00am. It's dreary and snowing out. 20-30 years ago what I would be doing is getting all my money together to go to playoff arcade or at the mall at dream machine. Damn I wish I can take my kids out to an arcade. There all gone. It's not the same but I will be playing some coin ops arcade on my xbox today. It sure in hell doesn't feel like the arcade but it's all I got. Some centipede, wwf wrestlefest, superman, turtles, xmen and always ms pac man.

I do have a soft spot for art deco, but I'm currently rocking the Queen Anne style furniture in the living room.Luke wrote:I do have a soft spot for art deco. Except for the dining room.
