What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Oh and she just shredded a bunch of medical journals that my wife had left lying on the floor. Hopefully they weren't important.
In about a year - when your child is old enough to drag out toys but too young to put them back - you will be spending about and hour each night cleaning up after her. We are just now coming out of this since our daughter is old enough to effectively clean up after herself, but feeding, cleaning, and cleaning up after our children really dominated our evening schedules for a while.

We are lucky, however, that our children are not too destructive. They have little to no regard for thier own safety, but when it comes to daddy's video games and mommy's pottery, they are quite careful.

Never had that happen before. Awesome.
Few years ago ordered three PC Engine games from a japanese vendor. The Post Office sent a notice that they must be picked up instead of delivered, and that kind of ticked me off. The minor inconvenience was offset when the seller included an extra game (Blodia, extra cool because you don't need to understand japanese to play) as thanks and a note saying as much.

When I bought a Neo Geo CD last year (or the year before last?) I opened the box to find the seller had thrown in ten freebie games.

Went to the grocery store, helped a pretty lady put a spare tire on, and all in under a half hour.

The grocery store is about a half mile away, but still pretty impressive. And to tell the truth, a spare tire for a 92 Cavalier looks a lot like a regular tire for a 92 Cavalier.

@bikeage and Bone: Nice to know that happens occasionally! Although 10 games with that Neo Geo is crazy. Very generous.

Anyway, another tale from ebay:

I bought a couple of empty sega cd/saturn cases. There was a picture that showed them as empty. What I received was two copies of the same sealed sports game.

That's... not the same thing.

I guess the "new" descriptor should have tipped me off, but still, the picture.

I get the idea was to switch out the sports game with whatever I want, which is cool and all, but I'm not ok with tearing apart a perfectly good complete game, even if its "just a sports game" as some people say.

I opened one copy and I'll keep it, 'cause its a soccer game and I like soccer, and I intend to play it.

I'm happy to have a new game, but I'm annoyed about not having my empty cases. *shrug* Oh well.

If anyone is interested in a sealed copy of Sega Sports Worldwide Soccer on Saturn, let me know, I have a spare.

That is a quality sports game. Electronic Gaming Monthly once ranked it as one of the greatest games of all time.

Smile: Killed it at my job interview today. Was nervous as hell but got my confidence up as the meeting went on and finished strong.

Frown: The hiring process for this company is onerous. This interview clears me for the next (which would clear me for the next) and THEN I might get hired. The pessimist in me is ignoring the success that this interview should represent and is instead focusing on how I'm not yet working. Oh well.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Stay positive duder. Most of my jobs have gone as soL

Phone call.
Phone Interview.
F2F Interview.
Another F2F Interview.
Salary negotiations.

It's a long, drawn out process, but call-backs are always a great sign.

Best of luck.

Gotcha. Thatll be nice. I think I had yours & Hobbie's area of employment mixed up. IIRC, he works over by my house.

I'll be commuting in to near 610 & 290. Luckily most of the drive is 249 & SH Tollway. The drive can be 30 minutes or an hour depending on traffic lol. Luckily I'm an early bird so I'll beat the rat race in the morning.
Nah, I used to be over there. Then I moved projects about 8 months ago that brought me back to the Galleria area. Hobie works from home.
