Bill Simmons has a way with words doesn't he?

Well, this was bound to happen sooner or later:

http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/13/justice/f ... ?hpt=hp_t1

The url basically says it all, but a man was shot dead in a theater, and it all started because some jerk was on their mobile phone during a movie.

Although a travesty, it wouldn't hurt for theaters to remind you "If you use your phone during this movie, you may be shot. Keep that in mind." Followed by Movie Etiquette For Idiots.

It's been a while since they've shown this before a movie I've seen there, but the Alamo Draft House no texting voicemail video is great. NSFW words and text.

That said, even though it is annoying when someone is being a dick in the theater, appropriate responses. :|

It was not during the movie, but the previews. Always seemed that time was OK for a little light chatter until the feature started. Not to mention it was 1:30 in the afternoon, not a stretch to think people may have some biz to take care of before the film begins.

Poor taste to classify the dead guy as a "jerk" in these circumstances.

The arguments apparently went throughout the movie, according to reports, so yeah...

Not poor taste at all to call someone a jerk who is doing jerky things. Popcorn was thrown, they were shouting at each other during the movie, the guy used his phone...period.

If you're at a movie theater at 1:30pm, apparently you don't have much "biz" to take care of.

Yeah the guy using a phone during previews is the real jerk here. He clearly deserved to die.

The dude who pulled out a fucking gun and murdered someone for looking at their phone? Not a jerk at all, clearly a totally reasonable reaction.

Methinks you don't know the entire story. Not that I do either, but according to eyewitnesses, including a former Police officer, both jerks argued for most of the movie...until one guy shot the other.

They both sound like macho jerks.

But herein lies the lesson: Don't be a jerk. You never know when someone might shoot you. Don't exacerbate the situation if you are possibly being a jerk.

Not that there is any validity of someone getting shot over being a jerk, it happens a lot.

Sounds like a nice warm summer day in Kansas! Add 90% Humidity to that, and you have Kansas the year before last. The highest it got was 115f.
