2014 Games Anticipation Thread - Nintendo Systems

So what has your attention for 2014?

Obviously there is a lot we probably don't know about for this year considering that the Big N likes to play their cards close to the vest. But I thought it might be fun to discuss games we are looking forward to on Nintendo's platforms.

For me:

Mario Kart 8
Kirby Triple Deluxe
Monster Hunter 4 (I hope!)
Monolith's X

Well... it wasn't until just now I realized there's not much I'm looking forward to on Nintendo systems. Just Bravely Default on 3DS and the next Zelda on Wii U.

I guess I'm looking forward to the announcement of new 3DS games because I just realized the 2014 list is looking pretty bare right now. The new Kirby game seems to have the potential to use the 3D well though.

Super Smash Brothers is about the only thing I see that I'm interested in at the moment. I don't have a Wii U or else I'd definitely be all over X.

Yeah, there are not a ton of games currently announced specifically this year at this point. I'm sure that 2-3 months (and a couple Directs) from now we will know more.

There are a few little tidbits out there though.

Basically just Smash Bros. at this stage. Oh, and I guess Ace Attorney vs. Phoenix Wright too.

Yarn Yoshi, Fire Emblem X SMT and Monolithsoft's X are all exciting in theory, but I'll be waiting to see more on them.



I'm expecting to see Nintendo come out with some new game announcements during the next couple of Nintendo Direct's as a lot of the game we've been shown recently are either out now or out soon.

X and FEXSMT, but I have no idea if they're coming out this year.

I had typed up a nifty post about cool homebrews coming out, now that I see it's only for Nintendo systems, I got nothing...almost. I want to see what comes out on the 3DS and Wii-U, because think those are the two current gen systems I will in fact actually buy. Nothing on the Vita entices me, and the PS4 and Xbone have long ago abandoned the kind of games I like.

Meh, at least I'll have my homebrews. Yay for NEO XYX!
