+1 would read post and agree with again.

I think I just don't see the difference between "pulling for" and "rooting for" independent of picking a team for monetary gain - an important contextual detail missing from the initial post where Luke used that term. Otherwise one is basically saying "I hope this team wins but I want this team to win so will cheer for both" without any context as to why you might be happy either way.

Mostly their personalities. Kaepernick thinks he is hot shit, and that kiss his bicep celebration he does irritates me. He is a good athlete that is a 1 read passer. Had that GB CB Hyde caught that gimme pick, most likely pick 6, game wouldve been over.
Harbaugh is a loud mouth whiner type, he was like that when he played as well. I like his brother more.

The key word is "Win". I pulled for the Packers to win. I didn't root for the Niners to win, I only rooted for their team. Maybe an example will clarify:

*49's score another touchdown*

"Did you just see that grab by Crabtree? That was incredible! *claps loudly*

inner monologue:

"Damn. Today will be a wash if the Pack doesn't step it up."

And here you lost me again. The Niners = the team.

Kaepernick is hot shit. I don't think he is half as cocky as most WR's, which means he's still arrogant but not a total jerk, but I can see that celebration getting on one's nerves.

Both of the "Harboys" have amazingly strong personalities. I find them both amusing.

You can root for two teams at once and still want only one team to win.

Were you rooting for them to make the field goal at the end?

The game was already over at that point.

Was I rooting for the 49's to make a comeback? Apprehensively. Did I still want the Packers to win? Yes.
