Lunar is really one of the best 16-bit RPGs. But if you find it unexpectedly simple (as in don't expect fully animated cutscenes) I encourage you to KEEP WITH IT and continue on to play Eternal Blue.

Popful Mail is great too but in a kind of dumber way? It really comes down to you being in the mood for a traditional RPG or a side-scrolling action-RPG.

I want to do the same, I want to do it with the 360 controller but it seems that I need an expensive USB charger kit. I didn't find any regular USB cable .

360 controller is easy enough. If you have a wireless one, then you need a "360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows". AFAIK MS only actually sells them bundled with a controller anymore, but you can often find them for sale on their own. There are also plenty of knockoffs.
They're very touchy about USB power levels, and like to blow a fuse for no good reason. It's an easy repair, but still.

The play n' charge kit itself won't allow the controller to act as a controller. Just to charge the battery pack.

All that being said, personally, my recommendation is to just buy a wired 360 pad for PC games unless you actually want/need the wirelessness. Simpler, with no syncing or battery issues to worry about (or battery hump on the controller for that matter). The wireless receiver is probably $15-20 anyway.

On newer Windows systems it's just plug n' play. Anything that supports XInput is very simple.
