10 Best Activision games for Atari 2600

Activision made some of the BEST Atari 2600 games & here is my Top 10 Favorites!

What other 2600 game developers did you also enjoy? Imagic, Parker Bros, Froggo, etc...

Solid & unexpected list. Every one of those games I'd easily throw on my top 10 list too. Except Pitfall II, but I didn't realize the design of the game was so expansive, so I'd let it on a list just for that.

I've been playing all of these on Activision Anthology on the Game Boy Advance. Clearing the goals on Enduro and Frostbite felt really good.

I'd argue that Seaquest edges out River Raid as the best Activision shooter on the 2600.

The PC version of Activision Anthology also has the games from Imagic (Activision bought out their catalog, I believe), so you get games like Dragonfire, Cosmic Ark, Subterranea, Laser Gates, No Escape!, Demon Attack, and Imagic's Star Raiders clone, Star Voyager, which is just as good as Starmaster was. Parker Brothers also had some good 2600 arcade ports like Q*Bert and Reactor.

Try as I might, I can't really get into Kaboom. The game is just too damn hard for my tastes! Chopper Command too...

Good to know about the PC version of the anthology!

Spider Fighter is intense. It's probably the most frantic shooter on the 2600 with Turmoil being the only other game that comes close. It's definitely my favorite of the Space Invaders/Galaga clones.

It's impressive that no one's 10 best list of 2600 Activision games could hold all the great games they put out for the system.

Chopper Command and Keystone Capers were my favourites. I always wanted Pitfall II for my Coleco Vision, but it was $45 at a time when 2600 games were $20. The few times I went to the store with my parents, we ended up getting 2600 games instead.

I loved that YOU caught it though. Cuz it probably would've gone over my head, but YOU pointed it out haha. Then again, if you didn't you'd probably have a hundred YT comments about it, right?
