This was probably one of my most played games back in my GB/GBC days. Only things I spent more time in were the Pokemon, and Dragon Warrior Monsters games and maybe Zelda Link's Awakening DXAck wrote: Battle Arena Toshinden:

The Secret of Monkey Island has one of the more bizarre ports in a video game.

Some more C64 weirdness....
Japanese developer Vic Tokai released Aigiina no Yogen and Chester Field on the Famicom in the 1980s. Both games were localized for the West, but instead of simply being released on the NES they were brought to the Commodore 64 instead. Besides these two, I can't think of any other C64 games of Japanese origin that weren't arcade ports.
Aigiina no Yogen was retitled Aigina's Prophecy:

Have you played Commodore 64 Contra (Gryzor)? It. Is. Awful.Damm64 wrote:I'll add them if i know of some diferent versions. Oh well i still got some.
I have the first Street Fighter on C64 and that one is actually somewhat playable.

That's actually a possible scenario.J T wrote:I like to imagine that there was some poor kid whose parents wouldn't buy him any consoles other than his R-Zone who was really excited for all these ports because it was the only way he could play these franchises.
There was a time I played the hell out of the Castlevania II Tiger handheld because it was the only Castlevania game I had access to.
Then again, I didn't have any other systems at the time either.
...just another lost soul...

Never got to play a real commodore, i only know the games by watching or reading them.BoneSnapDeez wrote: Have you played Commodore 64 Contra (Gryzor)? It. Is. Awful.
Now i got a emulator (i know, herecy!) to work and tried this game... my god it is awful... but for some reason i was having fun
Time to try somethin more, simpsons arcade game!
I always though that the port of starcraft on the N64 was kind of odd, no mouse or keyboard on the system. They also got all the campains of the main game and the expantion pack on one cartridge, impresive. But not as much as resident evil 2.

Nothing wrong with emulating a C64. It's getting very hard to find reliable working copies of certain tapes and disks. Contra is actually more playable on an emulator than a real system, I recommend using Joy2Key and mapping the space bar (jump) to a button.Damm64 wrote:Never got to play a real commodore, i only know the games by watching or reading them.BoneSnapDeez wrote: Have you played Commodore 64 Contra (Gryzor)? Simpsons on C64 actually isn't that bad. I recently tossed an old C64 magazine that had some great reviews. It was published by Commodore themselves and it was clear they were trying to hype their games - Simpsons was "arcade perfect", A+ rating, etc...
Starcraft 64 kick ass.
