So pretty much everything that douchebag Lude Brutus plays on that national radio show of his that takes over my local rock station after 8 pm.

It's a goodun with some real classics on there like Bombenhagel and Nuclear Winter. The preceding EP titled Expurse of Sodomy has my favorite song: Sodomy and Lust. You can often find it and Persecution Mania bundled together.
I haven't listened to it very much, but Agent Orange is rad too.

And the other week my brother informed be that he's "outgrown" metal.

He now listens to butt rock almost exclusively.

Well you tell him that he's a no-good faggot metal traitor. Okay, that might be a bit harsh. Seriously though, I never understood how people "outgrow" Metal. It's not like ceasing to listen to Deicide is akin to not listening to The Wiggles anymore.

I've got that album on CD. It's awesome grind.

I normally hate Grind, but that song was quite alright.

Never would have guessed. Around here butt rock refers to 80s glam metal.

That seems to be the common "definition."


I've been listening to Skeletonwitch's latest album: Serpents Unleashed and am loving every bit of it. It's melodic, blackened, rockin', and just heavy as fuck. It's everything I want from Skeletonwitch and then some. This absolutely kicks the shit out of their previous album: Forever Abomination. I haven't listened to it enough to be sure, but I think this might be my favorite Skeletonwitch album.

So I picked up Toxic Holocaust's Hell on Earth and I'm just not impressed. I wish they would experiment a bit more. And I really, really wish they would take away that cymbal, because the drumming is really repetitive and distracting for me. Do they vary more in their later work? I have been interested in picking up their albums since they've appeared on several EPs with Municipal Waste, but I am wondering if they are really worth the listen.

Mostly it refers to taste changing, but they refer to it as "growing out of" because most people view metal or punk a something for angry adolescents rather than adults. That, or someone who changes their taste based on what they think others will view them for listening to. (AKA Me.)

Toxic Holocaust pre-An Overdose of Death is a love it or leave it kind of thing. Since it's pretty much just one guy doing those records (Evil Never Dies, Hell on Earth), you can tell where his abilities start to wane—mainly in the drum department. It's cool for straight ahead punky thrash, but not much else.

An Overdose of Death is a lot better produced, has more varied songwriting, and has an actual drummer (the dude from Zeke) playing on it, which makes for a much more solid record. Haven't paid much attention past that, but I would check that album out before giving up on the band.
