Glad to hear this. I always thought your Want List was way too short.

I only have 1477 games on my want list right now. At my current pace - and assuming that I do not acquire any more systems - I should finish up in late 2015...at which point, I will immediately sell everything on eBay and demand that the mods shut down my Racketboy account (or catch up on my backlog...either one, really).

I imagine you'll be like a Katamari ball at that point, sucking up any videogame related thing into your mass and be nigh unstoppable.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

You must do what I do. I have 702 on my want list not including PC, Steam, or Ouya games, and without having done an exhaustive search of the INTV, C64, CV, Amiga, or modern consoles' libraries. My end tally so far (excluding most of those libraries) sits at 1396, but I imagine it'll probably end near 1500. I've decided to forgo Vita, XBone, Wii-U, and I've become very picky about modern games, so that will alleviate the stress of a giant backlog considerably.

My collection is kind of like a blakc hole. Once a game enters, it cannot escape...

That sounds about right. I compiled my want list by researching every game in a system's library and then making a determination as to whether it fits into the "criteria" for my collection (or if I simply want it...). I also enjoy reading about games and discussing them on this forum, and I am constantly adding to my want list based on recently discovered information. (Did you know that Gummy Bears: Magical Medallion (Wii) is a 2D platformer? It is!!! Apparently, it is also terrible, but since it fits the criteria for my collection (i.e., it is a 2D platformer on a seventh-generation system), it's going on the list! Also, two members of this forum recently informed me that Pokemon Snap (N64) is a really good game. It's also on the list too!)

I also avoid new systems and games. I only purchased a PS3 a few months ago, and I have no plans to purchase either a 360 or any of the latest consoles. (This is especially true since the latest generation of consoles jettisoned backwards compatibility...) This keeps me focused on used games and helps me to avoid buying games based on the publicity associated with them.

I also have no concerns regarding my backlog. I may eventually get through all of the games in my collection...but I kind of doubt it. I am unashamed to admit that - while I enjoy playing games - I enjoy researching, discussing, and collecting them more, and I have just as much fun digging through a bin of used games looking for a deal than I do playing whatever I find.

Ah, yeah, that's where we differ. If a game is bad, I have no problem rejecting it, or even getting rid of it once acquired!
I only purchased a PS3 a few months ago.
You're ahead of me, then!
and I have no plans to purchase either a 360 or any of the latest consoles.
I debated the merits of a 360 for a long time, but eventually decided the few exclusives it had combined with the superior ports were enough (aka > 25) to add it to the list. It'll be a long while before I get either a PS3 or 360, but I will, eventually.
I also have no concerns regarding my backlog. I may eventaully get through all of the games in my collection...but I kind of doubt it. I am unashamed to admit that - while I enjoy playing games - I enjoy researching, discussing, and collecting them more, and I have just as much fun digging through a bin of used games looking for a deal than I do playing whatever I find.
You're definitely not alone on that. :D

See, I only add games to my Want List if I own the console first.

But once I do obtain an Amiga, ColecoVision, Atari 8-bit system, and a method to play MVS games (probably a converter) I expect the list to grow exponentially.

I buy some games because they are bad! This fact explains the presence of Superman 64, Bebe's Kids, Ultraman, Pit Fighter, Fugitive Hunter Duke Nukem Forever, and various other games in my collection, and it also explains my strong desire to add the PS3 port of Ride to Hell: Retribution to my want list...

I used to do this...but sometimes you just stumble on a lot of $1 7800 games and can't help yourself...

Haha it's all good.

I have an Amiga game that's been sitting in the closet here for about two years.

...and you sent me a CoCo game! (It is currently sitting on top of my Arcadia 2001 collection, BTW.)

That's right! Downland - one of the greatest CoCo exclusives.

True story - I owned that game for about a month before I realized it was called Downland and not Download.
