Played some Final Fantasy VI Advance last night. Made it to the World of Ruin. And don't worry, Cid is alive.

Good. I have never let Cid die.

I have done both. Cid's death makes the game sadder overall. I now do my best to make sure he lives every time.

I... didn't realize you could actually save Cid.

I actually didn't realize you could let him die...(I thought Shadow was the only character you could sacrifice.)

Great game, BTW. It was one of my first JRPGs, and I have enjoyed the genre ever since completing it so many years ago.

Shadow lived as well. Kinda helps when you can super-dash in the GBA version.

Getting the correct fish for Cid has always been a crapshoot for me. I know the faster fish are better or something, but generally I just screw around until I succeed. I can reload a save if he gets really sick.

ALWAYS wait for Shadow on the Floating Island. Shadow is the man.

Though it's certainly not the same as sacrificing, you can beat the game without collecting every character in the World of Ruin. I have never done this though.

That's a great line-up.

Arcanum may be my favorite WRPG of all time. It's so dark and creepy and weird. Too bad Troika Games went under after only three RPGs.

Once I beat Final Fantasy VI Advance, I'll probably go after Tales of Phantasia. Bought it years ago, never finished it. Come to think of it, I didn't get far either.

Same here, and it's remained at the number three slot in my list of top ten favorite games ever since I first played it.
