Add a shot of Jameson and two sugar cubes and you're set for a nice Irish coffee.

I've lately gotten into creamer. Never thought I'd be a guy drinking French vanilla creamer, but there you have it. Only in the nice big cups of super espressos, though (burnt out on making cappuccinos with this thing).

NO! No, no, no.

First, an Irish coffee starts with the glass.

Then you have to whip the heavy cream until it forms a peak.

Rinse the glass with hot, steaming water, and pat dry. Add two sugar cubes to the glass and one shot of Bushmill's Irish Whiskey. Muddle, pour in coffee, and do not mix. Top with two tablespoons of the unsweetened whipped cream. If the cream melts instead of floating on top, you didn't whip the cream enough.

Anything else is completely uncivilized.

This is exactly correct. I tip my fancy hat to you, Luke.

By the way, if anyone wants to know how to fix traditional cocktails like this, I recommend Mr. Boston Official Bartender's Guide. I have kept a copy of this book for many years. This breaks down in simple English how any novice can create a fabulous cocktail. After practicing the classics, you'll be more confident and knowledgeable about crafting new drinks.

Ordered the book, thanks for the recommendation. Never hurts to have a guide for a drink I may have never made before.

I'm very particular about the glasses used and the proper procedures when it comes to cocktails. A rum and coke is a rum and coke, but when it comes to an Old Fashioned or Irish Coffee for example, I always obey the rules. You paid for the liquor, so might as well "Ohh and Ahh!" the guests you are serving, and yourself.

I wonder if this is the same logic behind those vodka enemas that seem so popular with college kids these days. (I agree about the cocktail making, btw.)

ANYWHO

Right now, I am drinking some random Caffeine-Free Diet Coke that wound up in my fridge. It's basically Aspartame: The Soda.

I got some Smirnoff Ice's so the wife would drink with me tonight. But I just can't drink enough! It's just not strong enough! I knew I should have gotten the Tequilla, too. I just feel full and bloated, now.

I'm drinking Florida Orange juice with lots of pulp. I just don't know how anyone can drink OJ without the pulp.

Studies (according to NPR) show that chimpanzees who drink alcohol daily and in moderation develop superior immune systems.
