-Chevelle
-Coal Chamber (I haven't actually heard them in years, though)
-Deftones
-Disturbed
-Mudvayne
-The Murderdolls (Another one I haven't heard in years)
-Sevendust
-Slipknot
-Tool
That's the first time I've ever seen Tool referred to as Nu Metal. Which in turn breaks my heart. They are my all time favorite band. I've been a fan since '93 when I saw "Sober" on Head Bangers Ball. Deftones are also up there as one of my favorites.

One band that typically get's referred to as Nu Metal is System of a Down, which I don't understand. They have next to no Hip Hop influence. I guess it is just because they were a new sound that wasn't captured in any other metal genre, so they just lumped them in with Limp Bizkit.

Side note: I got to see Deftones and System of a Down last summer in DC. It was pretty amazing.

Anthrax made songs about horror movies and Stephen King? Maybe I should check them out more. I always liked the bits of Anthrax stuff that made its way to me ("Bring The Noise," naturally...) and I think I generally like thrash stuff. Hmm...
Yeah, the cover art for the album is based on Poltergeist, but I believe the tracks Among the Living and A Skeleton in the Closet are based on King's stories The Stand and Apt Pupil, respectively. I Am the Law is about Judge Dredd. N.F.L. is about John Belushi.

This is Industrial, the first song by Renaissance on their Archway demo from 1992.

I was already listening to that!

Found it by searching "Industrial" in the Song Title field on the Metal Archives...

There's also the album Industrial by Pitchshifter, which is blatant Godflesh worship.

Eventually Pitchshifter turned into a crappy nu metal band.

I think they even had a song on the Twisted Metal soundtrack.
