How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
Just curious on this but am I the only one that feels this way? I have owned the 360 for a couple of weeks now and I looked at all the arcade games and there are a lot of ports of dreamcast games on the system but I can't buy them because I feel like if I want to play jet grind radio or sega bass fishing or 3rd strike or bangai-o, sonic adv, sonic adv 2, I need to play them on the dreamcast. I cant have it any other way.

Mas no you are not. I do not own any of the current systems. My nephew has the 360 and the PS3. I dont know if it is in my head but sometimes it just doesnt feel right to me. This is not only applies to DC but other retro systems/games. I guess if it is close second if you dont have access to a particular game or system. I thought about buying a 360 so i can play some of the older games. I have put off the purchase for a while now. Maybe some day.mas wrote:Just curious on this but am I the only one that feels this way? Thats the problem...
I just looked up Sonic Adventures 2 on 360 and its $10 . I looked it up on ebay and its anywhere from $30 to $45 , thats without shipping . When you factor that difference into 3-4 games you will see that you are losing about $100 to every 3 games you decide to buy for the Dreamcast instead off the XBL arcade.
You also have to factor in that using the Dreamcast means extra setup on your TV, and probably lesser quality picture than on the 360. Its just so much more convenient to get the arcade version.
One thing I keep questioning myself, would Sega rather I buy the Dreamcast version or buy the Arcade version and pirate the Dreamcast cd ?

Re: How is your Dreamcast gaming going on?
I buy my PS1 and Dreamcast games for $3.99 a piece at Goodwill. So I'm paying half the price of Xbox Live Arcade. I just got another copy of Chrono Cross yesterday at that price, complete, which I'm giving as a Christmas gift.

Looks pretty cool.
Someone in the comments stated that Dragon's Crown was originally intended to be a Dreamcast game - I remember reading about that in the art book that came with the Vita release. Here's the Dreamcast concept art:

I consider that a plus.

Consider yourself lucky I pay a minimum of $10 for shipping only, if a game is $4 as you say, then the least amount I would pay for any game is $14.
It might not sound like a huge difference but consider this, what ever you buy for $100 I pay $350 for.
