Once again, I feel like I'd like the show a lot more if I hadn't spent ten years reading the comics first.

It's great and all to want to branch out ... but if you do that, you need to come up with new landmark material. Not just branch out to avoid the nasty bits and to make it different just to wind up at the same sequence of events that happened in the source material.

As garbage-tastic as Dexter got, at least after the first season it was an entirely separate narrative.

Kirkman, write new material.

Judith's car seay was unbuckled, if that means anything.

A Daryl and Judith spin off would be hilarious. Asskicker and Baby roam the zombie, ahem, Walker filled land trying to figure out where to get more arrows and baby formula.

lol, you too?

I picked up the comic when issue 23 came out and been reading it since. I basicly saw everything coming.

Also, Dexter was crap, especially the final season.

Dam, i still have 6 episodes of dexter to watch on the dvr. Hate to hear it sucks as i've enjoyed every season but the one with that whiney ass julia styles. And since i hate to read, TWD has been just a show a show for me.

Game of Thrones is a perfect example of how this sort of thing should work. The show follows the book, only making changes for things that don't work for TV, or for things that they think can enhance what's in the books

The Walking Dead can never decide if it wants to be its own thing or a comic book adaptation. They could have had the whole series follow the comics, while still adding in cool things like Daryl and Merle

Daryl must bring in a lot of fans, because if they wanted the decapitation scene to have the same sort of impact as the comics, it would have been Daryl getting his head chopped off. I like Daryl though, so I'm not complaining. But in the comics, the governor kills someone who rivals Rick as leader of the group. On the show, Daryl is the guy in that role. I think Hershel was a good choice and his death certainly was impactful, but man I wonder what kind of shit storm would have been kicked up by fans if it was Daryl.

I really enjoyed the finale, and they did a lot more than I expected in staying true to the comic...but they are still holding back just a tiny bit. The show is still taking it easy on its viewers a bit. I think Game of Thrones has just hardened me with how ruthless it is in showing the most horrifying things to its viewers, which the Walking Dead would be doing too if it stuck strictly to comic book events. But TWD is what it is, and I still enjoy it

I didn't watch it but on the Talking Dead where they do the little R.I.P. segment Judith was never mentioned after the mid-season finale.

I actually enjoy the show and books equally. I just hope the show goes towards Negan as the next bad guy. He. Is. F*cking. Brutal.

I don't watch the Talking Dead, but as you just said it has been brought to my attention that the show has an RIP segment where they discuss about the passing of any character (significant or not).

Seeing as Judith is pretty darned significant not mentioning her is pretty telling. Or at least I would think.
