PICS ADDED!! Switching DC, Saturn, Sega CD games over ....

Post by kingdomheights777 »

I have been on a quest for the past month switching over all of my old jewel case games :Dreamcast, Saturn, Sega Cd, 3DO etc. Over to dvd cases with custom covers for each. Has anyone else done this, they just look so much better on a shelf and easier to stack.

And yes i have kept all the original cases still....

Image here is all my dreamcast , saturn, gamecube , sega cd, PS2 and 3DO games

ive been planning on doing this for a while now, not for all my DC games, but i came up on 10 loose DC games in a bargan bin at the LA fair, they dont have real cases, so i was thinking of getting some DVD cases and printing covers from thecoverproject, IMO the DVD cases for DC games are beautiful! the guys at thecoverproject are doing a awesome job at providing game art!!!

I have already done this. Don't have Sega CD or 3DO, but I have done it with my PS1, Saturn and Dreamcast games. I've made the custom covers for most of my Saturn and PS1 games, actually.

It's kinda necessary in this household. As many parties as we have, having a bunch of easily-breakable jewel cases out in the open for sauced-up people to break ain't a great idea, especially considering that Sega CD and Saturn cases can break just from normal use.

Oh yeah, if you can, try to ask Blockbuster to give you the DVD cases they throw away. Some are real fascists about that sorta thing, while others don't give a crap. I've obtained tons of DVD, DS, PS3, PSP, Xbox, X360, Wii and Gamecube cases through those means, but now I'm down to nothing but PSP, PS3 and Xbox cases.

I just started with moving all my games into DVD/DS/Universal cases. I'm still waiting on my order of 200 universal game cases (I need about 150 for the current collection, but I know I'll be expanding it), but I have all the DVD and DS cases. And now that The Cover Project is back up it's time for me to start printing. I'll be moving all my current GBA games out of my DS boxes and into their own, and moving all the Saturn, Sega CD, PSX, Dreamcast stuff into DVD cases.

After all, I want the collection to look nice.

right on thanks! i was also wondering, wich kind of paper would be best for printing the covers!? of course default printer paper isnt going to work, but i would guess glossy paper would work right?

I cannot justify doing this until I have access to a cheap high quality colour printer. The cost ratio on inkjet is just to much for me.
