Glad it was merely a scary lesson and nothing worse.

Whew. Too close of a call. Glad no one was injured.

Apparently when I was a kid I used to go around the house "collecting" those plastic outlet covers.

I've been plugging up all the outlets here myself. My daughter has already tried to stick her fingers in a couple. She wants to touch everything she's not supposed to touch.

That's probably the reason I used to remove the plastic safety thingies.

Not to scare any of you parents, but you know how you here stories about "Somebody stuck a *insert metal object* in an outlet and died"? I was friends with a girl nicknamed Buck (She was 6'0 in the sixth grade) and her sister was electrocuted by shoving a fork into an outlet.

Frown: My wife a friend of ours and I went to the Farmers Market and the empenada lady is still sick. We also stopped by the Bojangles drive thru to grab a quick snack. I ordered a gravy biscuit, and it didn't come in the usual styrofoam "jewel case". But it did include a spork, so we went on our merry way back home to eat (no eating in the car or eating inside a fast food restaurant*).

When we sat down to eat I opened what should have been a gravy bowl only to find it was full of grits. They gave me a stupid gritscuit, and I didn't like it. It's like something that Professor Chaos would do to someone.

Actually they're much harder to remove these days - or at least the ones I got are. My wife can't even take them out.

Good. Most toddlers I know can't figure out how to remove rubber bands from cabinet knobs, but they certainly are inquisitive squirts.

:D My son just 1cc'd Super Punch Out (Wii)
He's 8:
He woke me up screaming, "I did it, I did it, didn't lose any rounds the whole game, 1CC dad!" Took me a few minutes to wake up and snap a pic, here he is playing the bonus game in the credits. He's ridiculous at some games, this is one of them:

Week before Thanksgiving, families receive eviction notices
OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Dozens of families who say a motel is the only thing keeping them from being homeless were just told they have a week to get out.

Some said the eviction date is Monday. For others it's the day after Thanksgiving.

People said they don't know what to do.

Some have been living at the Travelodge on U.S. 192 for years. Management said it's being renovated and that residents have to leave.

Some of the residents are so upset they'll have to leave this Travelodge that it brought them to tears.

They claim management has an "I don't care" attitude about it all.

These residents are so angry that they banded together in a large group to sound off.

For them, the Travelodge is home. Weekly rental fees offer a relatively inexpensive place to stay.

At least 40 residents got notices to vacate their rooms, and fast.

"These people who have been here for years, they have families, they're (wanting) us to leave within Monday," resident Nathaniel Patillo said.

They showed Eyewitness News the notices that inform them that renovations to some of the buildings will require them to leave.

They don't think it's fair.

"A lot of the people here don't have the resources, means, knowledge to go ahead try to find resources, help ourselves because that's exactly who's here in the first place," Patillo said.

In letters given to the residents, management cited Florida state statute 83.57, which says a tenancy without a specific duration may be terminated by giving not less than seven days notice if it's a week-to-week agreement.

For the residents the holidays are around the corner and they'll have no place to live.

"So we're kind of (in) trouble. We have nowhere to go then," resident Richard Preston said.

The manager did not want to talk and threatened to call the Sheriff's Office.

Some of the letters also told the residents if they don't remove their possessions by a specific date they'll be required to pay double rent and attorney's fees.
In case you're curious, that's the same Travelodge me and my family have been living in for a while now.

And apparently, my mom was told this morning that since we're paid up until this forthcoming Friday, they're gonna try to find a room for us. But if one doesn't open up, she said that we'll still be allowed to stay but we'd have to put up with the sounds of renovation.

But on the bright side, my mom's made a payment on the storage unit and once my brother gets paid on Tuesday she'll make another payment and we'll be paid up.

Smile: Mother Nature blew off my driveway for me, and the wind is still whipping around like it's looking for Dorothy. Great weather for tossing the football around, bike riding, and a warm dinner.

Also somewhat looking forward to my weekly The Walking Dead party. From the last episode and teasers combined, I'm fairly certain I know how the new episode will play out. Fingers crossed that I'm wrong.
