Been watching Hidan no Aria (Aria the Scarlet Ammo) along with the few currently airing series I've been watching.
It's pretty bad but has things I like. Twin tailed short dfc tsundere.
Haha.. Well, the opening theme is kinda cool.

Based on nearly every other video game based anime I've seen... I'd probably skip it.General_Norris wrote:There's a Salamander (Yes, the Gradius spin-off) anime. Has anyone seen it?

The old Ys anime isn't too bad... But yeah, generally speaking, VG translate into pretty dismal anime.

There is a series where the main is named Goku and is loosely based on the Monkey King legend (like DBZ). I can't for the life of me remember what it is called.
I want to say Sayuki? I know that isn't right, but its close; at least I think. Anyone have a clue?

Huh, that anime must be where the Playstation game Saiyuki: Journey West comes from! I've played the game, but never heard of the show.
So, my gf and I finished Samurai Champloo last night... and we were both a little disappointed. The characters in the show were fantastic, but the actual story never really evolves. It felt like I just watched 3 great characters walk from one point to another. Still a good watch, but there was potential for the show to be much, much better than it turned out.

Never evolves? Sounds like Bebop most of the time. Nice cast but is about 80% filler. :/

yep, pretty much how Champloo feels. The overall plot takes a back seat to one-of episodes, with the occasional touch on what is actually supposed to be happening. I'd say that, out of the 26 episodes, maybe an hour is spent building on the actual plot.ZenErik wrote:Never evolves? Sounds like Bebop most of the time. Nice cast but is about 80% filler. :/
The show was still very entertaining, and the one-of episodes that had nothing to do with the main plot were the best ones. It just felt like they said, "Alright, time to end it, just have em reach their goal and cut". 3 episodes before the finale the crew is playing a ridculously hilarious baseball game that has nothing to do with the plot whatsoever, and then bam, series over.
