The connections to the original game are very loose and almost none existent. You can safely play it without playing the first two games and not really miss out on anything.

Still haven't managed to drag myself through the first two games but I somehow pushed through this one . Really need to go back and replay it now that I have PS Move though should be freaking amazing with motion controls so glad I picked it up on the PS3 instead of the 360 like I originally planned to.
