So some guy posted an unboxing video and was updating with all sorts of info on Twitter. Game sizes, boot times, etc. Gets banned.

He seemed so happy and was giving Microsoft all the free positive PR they could want. Guess they're not interested.

I hope they unban him on launch day. He did nothing illegal by buying the Xbox from a store that decided to ignore the street date, that's the store's fault.

Why would they ban him?
Its not like its the next secret Microsoft is working on, the product will be released in a week or so.

Is there a law against stores that release games/consoles early on?

I think videogame publishers should not sell games/consoles to smaller shops, just big retailers on launch day to control this thing. I know its a huge disadvantage to pop & mom stores

No laws, though a company could decide to refuse to sell a company that breaks its agreements in the future.

Thing is, this was from Target. They're a very big company, one of the biggest retail chains in the country in fact. They're a competitor to Wal-Mart.

Yeah many Microsoft people have already said it is not a permanent ban, just one that will last until launch. It was because he was giving all the info out to people and the companies tend to love controlling the information so they put a stop to it for the time being.

Seems like that guy wasn't too mad about it.

They said they were also getting him into an exclusive Xbox One event of some sort. Pretty cool.

That is awfully nice of them, since he is actually drumming up excitement from the crowds just weeks before the system is released, something that Microsoft has somewhat failed to do.
