You are missing the point. The US government is your Mom and Dad.

Free countries don't keep stock piling taxes to get rid of their mistakes that led to our deficit. The government doesn't give a shit about your health, they care about mandated health care to open your wallet.

Taxes.
And you're just okay with that? You don't see a problem with that?

Also, PLEASE. Like Trans-fat is on the same level as arsenic or rat piss. That comparison is laughable. Give me a break people.

Consumption of artificial trans-fat over a long period time will result in heart disease. Rat piss, - like articficial trans-fats - is gross, but to my knowledge, consuming it will not kill you. Accordingly, they are distinguishable.

B.S.!

As an American, if I choose to be a fat man, I should have the right to be a fat man!
I enjoy not having toxins in my food.

And that article title is alarmist and stupid. None of those foods will be "banned", but the ingredients will have to be changed.

I think it would depend on the toxicity of the rat piss.

OK...OK...I assumed, however, that the rats had not been eating lots of artificial trans-fats.

From time to time, you hear in the news that some one died and it was traced back to rat piss or rat droppings on cans or other foods in a warehouse.

OK - and to continue the greatest debate in Racketboy history - rat urine can carry leptospirosis, which can lead to death in very rare cases. Consuming sterile rat urine, however, probably will not result in any detriment to your health. You can sterilize artificial trans-fats as much as you want, however, and they will still kill you. (The FDA "ban" on artificial trans-fats will save an estimated 7000 lives per year.) In that sense, artificial trans-fats are more like leptospirosis (i.e., the root cause of the health issue) than rat urine, which is merely the means of delivery. (Rat urine is to leptospirosis what microwave popcorn is to artificial trans-fats.)

This seems a good moment to tell you that most of the honey Americans buy is not actually honey but corn syrup imported from China.

This is incorrect. Honey from China is subject to tremendous tarriffs. Those, however, do not stop shady businesses from laundering it.

Thankfully - and based on reports like these - I only buy local honey. There is certainly no shortage of it in North Carolina, and it tastes better besides.

Yep. I knew that. It is the reason I only buy local honey. (There is certainly no shortage of it in North Carolina.)
Same. Also, I prefer to buy my syrup from Loachapoka, Alabama.
