Re: Gamecube game questions..
My understanding is that Skies of Arcadia on the Gamecube was just a port, with some added features. However, the graphics are the same. As for Resident Evil on the Gamecube, they changed around a lot of the puzzles, as well as made the dialog not hilarious. They also added in the Lisa Trevor subplot. And the graphics are obviously improved. I'd highly recommend it.

Re: Gamecube game questions..
Resident evil remake it is.....ill enjoy my Skies copy on dreamcast
Re: Gamecube game questions..
Yeah, good choice on the Resident Evil remake. It's some really good stuff, one of the titles I recommend on the Gamecube. If you haven't nabbed RE Zero and Eternal Darkness yet, you might also want to look into them.
Re: Gamecube game questions..
Eternal Darkness is fantastic, especially if you play it the way it's meant to be played: with an empty sanity bar.

Skies of Arcadia's graphics are not all the same on Gamecube. They did redo the character models and some other things. Very minor differences but still worth noting.

I think they changed the gameplay a little bit for the gamecube version of SoA too. Not quite as many random battles and a couple more side quests.

Mozgus, you're perhaps the most hardcore RE fan on this site (barring re4, of course), what say you about the remake? I'm kinda thinking over a purchase myself.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

I'm really not a hardcore RE fan, though RE1 will always be my favorite in the series. Honestly, I beat the remake 3 or 4 times, (probably beat the original 10 times on PSX and Saturn) but I cant remember a fucking thing about it. It's the weirdest thing. I guess when you take out all the cheesiness, it's just not a very memorable experience. I remember loving the hell out of it, but not why.AwesomeMonstar wrote:Mozgus, you're perhaps the most hardcore RE fan on this site (barring re4, of course), what say you about the remake? Should you buy it? Without hesitation. I mean, it's still beautiful, a technical marvel in fact. It also has most of the original's music but performed much better. The game also ties closer to the rest of the series. The original was very clearly not meant to be a huge series. I just suggest you acquire and enjoy both versions. I still got retail copies of RERemake and RE0. I really need to go through them again...

Much more than that, man.Hatta wrote:I think they changed the gameplay a little bit for the gamecube version of SoA too. Not quite as many random battles and a couple more side quests.

I confirm all that. I 100%'d Legends. Saw everything there was to see. Still got screenshots to prove it too. Love that game.
Oh except for this:
That's probably bullshit. Nearly all the music on Dreamcast used a sequencing method unique to the system, which still hasn't been emulated worth a damn, though it's the only sequenced score files playable by the Dreamcast music winamp plugin so far, except for Ikaruga. I think they just had difficulty porting the music engine itself, or were just lazy. The music does not sound like it was recompressed. It has very noticeable audio clicks and pops and cutoffs. That's the only real reason to stick with the Dreamcast original, but since I'm such a game music freak, I still keep my retail Arcadia on Dreamcast just for that reason."However, in order to fit on the smaller GameCube disc, the music in Legends is of a lower quality than the Dreamcast version."
