You'd be surprised how many people will read "I'm busy for reason X, so there" as a "oh, she's just busy, I'll try again". Which is different from "I'm busy for reason X, but how about next Tuesday?" which is the legitimate you managed to actually find a time she was busy but she's interested.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Smile: Generally good day. Got lots of work done and got a refund from an overcharge on my tuition which is a plus.
Frown: Rejection.
Frankly, nothing hurts more than the "polite" rejection. Had I got a "No, sorry" I would probably be fine. Damn do I hate the whole "Oh I have friends coming from out of town" blah blah blah. It's insulting. If you think that any man can't detect the lack of enthusiasm you're only kidding yourself.
That sounds really bitter, even though I'm not. Seriously can't stand that though.

I fell for it for the 15 or so while adrenaline and endorphins were still pumping ~ and frankly I'm a bit socially dense. After that though I was like "Yeah, that actually didn't go well."MrPopo wrote: You'd be surprised how many people will read "I'm busy for reason X, so there" as a "oh, she's just busy, I'll try again". Oh well. Plenty of other fish in the barrel. Felt bad for a bit but feeling good now.

The worst that can happen was she said no, and your pride was temporarily bruised. Once one realizes that, it is all down hill from there.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I fell for it for the 15 or so while adrenaline and endorphins were still pumping ~ and frankly I'm a bit socially dense. Nope, I mean downhill. It is easy to travel down hill...RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I hope you mean up hill...Jmustang1968 wrote: The worst that can happen was she said no, and your pride was temporarily bruised. Once one realizes that, it is all down hill from there.

Someone at school once asked me if I would rather get sex or a free game system. I picked the games.
Come to think of it, there might be something wrong with me.

Well, what kind of game system are we talking about here? If it's a Turbo/PCE Duo, AES, PC-88/98, FM Towns, or X68000, I'd side with you. Nintendo console, or Playstation/Xbox of some kind: I'll take the former. Maybe.3DSStrider wrote:Someone at school once asked me if I would rather get sex or a free game system. I picked the games.

Although, if I were in a room with Aubrey Plaza, and an X68000, I'd go for Aubrey every time.
