I did an interview with one of my biggest role models in game design, Matt Bozon! I talked with him about the Shantae series, and by extension, the new game in the series on Kickstarter! http://www.snackbar-games.com/features/ ... s-shantae/

I refer to it as the "rule of law"...and it really does determine the wealth of nations. If you are interested in this subject, I highly recommend this book.

I'm pretty sure Putin and Erdogan are acting inside the "rule of law" of their countries. Now if they abusing that "law" who would have been the only ones capable to stop them? An independent, respected and powerful Judiciary. (or you know....street protests, but I was talking about something more official)

Sometimes things as easy as replacing a taillight and changing your own oil makes you feel a bit manlier.

I think we are talking about the same thing. The "rule of law" does not mean that a country has a set of laws or even that those laws are rigidly enforced. Rather, the term implies that the law applies in equal measure to everyone - including the government itself - irrespective of political power or wealth. (This is certainly not the case in Russia as far as I can tell...) Citizens in countries with the "rule of law" generally have strong "due process" rights, and countries with the "rule of law" generally have both strong anti-corruption laws and strong protections for private property. Moreover, the "rule of law" is generally accompanied by an independent judiciary, but the "rule of law" generally requires much more. (In other words, it would be possible to have a strong, independent judiciary - such as the "star chamber" - and not have the rule of law.)

Go easy on Brussel Sprouts and Spinach, my Mom always said they'd put hair on my chest (and they did!).

ah ok. Yeah I agree. If we are talking about general corruption yes you need a lot more, but I was just answering what to do about corrupt politicians specifically. Well as I said, that or voting them out /protesting :P (edit yeah I'm being silly, we both agree the answer is "laws")
