You know what, your right. They both have their up's and down's but in the end their about the same. It's just based on preference. But dude, I'm not a damn fanboy. I just wish Xbox would emulate Sony and give "free" games and discounts w/ your subscription.

That's a limited time offer. I was talking about more permanent.BogusMeatFactory wrote:http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live ... -with-goldoxymoron wrote:@Xboxsegafan187

Pretty much. Hopefully Microsoft steps up their game and provides more incentives to buy a Live subscription. I can kind of tolerate PS4 multiplayer being behind the paywall so long as they continue to give discounts, early beta access, and access to full games. But as it stands now, I'm keeping my PS3 hooked up for free multiplayer for as long as possible.oxymoron wrote:All i'm saying is if you put XBL and PS plus head to head, PS wins because it provides more features.
Re: Xbox One
Do you get anything other than online multiplayer with Xbox Live?
Re: Xbox One
They started giving away free games recently. Unlike with PS+, though, all the games have been relatively old and not especially interesting.RCBH928 wrote:Do you get anything other than online multiplayer with Xbox Live?

@ oxymoron fair enough you are not a fanboy.
As per your question yeah Xbox live subscribers do get discounts and free titles that are permanent but are limited. And special sales and publishers discount from time to time are afforded to those that subscribe, and people that do not have gold and elect to have silver can still access the online digital content but not multi players and gold exclusives.
But again the value of both services depend on what you think is valuable to you as a game consumer as both services offer you something worthwhile for paying a subscription fee. Both services IMO are great for what you pay for but which is better that is purely subjective.

I know that the value of XBL seems questionable at times and makes you think "what am I paying for!?" That said, a few years back I got to see one of their datacenters and it was very impressive. There was so much stuff in there that they just have to be doing something worthwhile.
I also think that the online multiplayer experience on XBL as a whole beats out any other, console or PC, so that's worth something.

Re: Xbox One
Maybe the $60 or so in subscription is used to pay for the expenses of hosting games and download bandwidth of Arcade and Downloadable games , which we pay for hahaha... I really won't be surprised if we are paying for digital games and the $60 goes for their hosting/downloading expenses.Phades wrote:I know that the value of XBL seems questionable at times and makes you think "what am I paying for!?"
