Please make an Attack on Titan game for home consoles!
Please make an Attack on Titan game for home consoles!
It's been awhile since I started watching anime again and I don't think I have come across one that really connects with my feelings. Anybody here reads the manga or watch the anime?

do you think a game is possible? I know a 3DS game is in the works, but they haven't shown much gameplay. Chunsoft is the developer and they make good games.Violent By Design wrote:ive read some of the manga.

I've been watching the anime, though the manga seems more the way to go.

There are plenty of anime spin off games out there I see no reason why they couldn't pull it off with this series. However the likelihood of it getting a release in the West is slim.
Would be sweet if they could make a game with shadow of the colossus sized enemies mixed with platforming similar to spider man 2 just toned down.

I wouldn't say is slim. At least the producer of the anime is well aware that Attack on Titans is actually popular in the West.Fragems wrote:There are plenty of anime spin off games out there I see no reason why they couldn't pull it off with this series. It just seems like the majority of anime games that do get released usually don't make it across the pacific.JC48573 wrote:I wouldn't say is slim. Another recent anime series which I was really hoping to see some games for was Sword Art Online. It did get a game on the PSP titled Sword Art Online: Infinity Moment but as far as I know there are no plans for an international release

A console game, not entirely likely. Anime based console games this generation have pretty much been involving juggernaut franchises only. There are of course exceptions to the rule (Megazone 23, Nurarihyon no Mago), but yeah I don't expect to see an Attack on Titan game appear on consoles, at least any time soon (perhaps developing for PS3 will be akin to developing for PS2 circa 2006 in the coming years and we'll start to see developers do more niche stuff). Handheld games based on the series will be much more likely.
As for a Western release, we've been pretty fortunate this generation. Even games based on lesser known franchises in the US like Saint Seiya have made it over here. Unfortunately they are usually altered and without licensed material or original voice overs, but such is the nature of the beast.
I have been watching the anime, it's pretty cool. I don't like how some of the dialogue is super melodramatic and over the top, and how the writers seem to think IF WE MAKE THE CHARACTER YELL REALLY LOUD THEN IT'S GOOD DRAMA! Aside from that minor writing gripe I think it's a good series. The animation quality in particular is impressive. The last episode that aired looked superb and I expect the finale will as well, but since episode one it has maintained a consistent level of above average visual quality.

I haven't watched Sword Art Online and don't plant to, but it sounds like a great premise for an action RPG.
