Health stuff

I think I definitely need to cut down the bread intake a lot. But I still eat a lot of rice and stuff... is there major differences between bread and then pasta/rice and the likes? Gluten wise and everything. If not I guess I wonder if there'd be any point on cutting down.

rice is gluten free unless it is intentionally glutenized (called sticky rice). Stick with rice, it is a much better grain than bread and pasta and all that.

Y'know, I like a good nicotine buzz, but I can't figure out the best option for me. I like the idea of e-cigs, but I wouldn't know what brand or the like to buy.

Normal cigarettes kick my ass because of my asthma, and dip/chew aren't exactly classy. Plus, enough people consider me a redneck as it is. I've smoked an e-cig before and it worked for me, so I'm pretty interested.

This might sound just a little crazy but how about not smoking cigarettes.

Guess that explains it. I always go whole wheat / brown rice when I can too.

Need to figure out some alternatives for lunch then... but I don't want to do my normal chicken/rice and vegetables twice a day haha. Maybe I could just do yogurt and fruit for lunch or something. Soups too but the ones I like (Chunky) are crazy expensive sometimes.

But yeah have always had issues with inflammation and such, so gonna try to cut down bread a lot for awhile now and see what happens.

Nicotine is horrible. I don't like watching my uncles alternate between sucking on oxygen tanks, smoking, and coughing up their lungs.

You could always become an adrenaline junkie instead

You're not an idiot though, and it pisses me off when people treat smokers like they don't know better. Anyone with half a brain knows what tobacco can do to you. I get that it feels good. Your choice, but I urge you to reconsider.

Well, I've seen what it caused for my Grandpa, and all of his health issues. As much as it deters me, I'm still interested.

Thus why I was looking at e-cigarettes. If I do my research, I can essentially get the safest brand and really lower my risks.

Do you really want to settle into an addiction? Once you start, it is really really really hard to stop. If you want the occasional nicotine buzz, then smoke something like a clove or inhale a bit when you puff a cigar from time to time. In my experience, folks who do that are a lot less likely to feel the need for a nicotine FIX all the time...it stays at the level of an occasional BUZZ for when it is desired.

I'm not worried about it becoming an addiction, as I don't really have an addictive personality. And on my dad's side of the family, there is a lack of addiction overall. My Dad quit dipping cold turkey without an issue, and my grandfather stopped smoking once he decided it got too expensive.

I'm not sure why I want it either, but for some reason I do want to smoke.

It has nothing to do with your personality, it has to do with chemical reactions in your body. Science, yo. Don't pretend otherwise. People with a "stronger personality" than you have regularly died of lung cancer thinking the same thing...
