Practically impossible levels and bosses

Post by Erik_Twice »

This is not a thread to rant about Castlevania. This about levels and bosses that can only be beaten in theorical terms or are so difficult that even the best players in the world took years to beat them, if anyone managed to beat them at all.

BLACK PIERROT from Magical Drop III

It's clear that the designers of Magical Drop didn't want anyone beating the game in one credit so if you reach the final stages with a score of 15.000 or higher you have to face the Black Pierrot, whose movement speed is simply "teleport" and even makes a tool-assisted speedrun difficult. You read that right.

The battle begins around 2:40

You can see not only couldn't the TAS make Black Pierrot lose by filling the screen, he almost beat the TAS! (He had 2 balloons left to fill the quota). Not even the final boss who also teleports is as insane.

Apparently he can only be beaten on the default difficulty if you manage to chain almost the entire screen at once and force the game to give you even more balloons just so you have more stuff to drop on him. He's that crazy.

Of course if you continue he suddenly becomes beatable and fair. He's simply designed so you can't beat the game on one coin and as far as I know there are no videos of anyone beating him.

I'm willing to bet an amount of money equal to my country's debt that this thread will get derailed by people talking about hard bosses.

Most of the bosses in Radiant Silvergun. I only could ever beat that game with infinite lives. :(

Kurasawa 2 in Wing Commander. Supposedly it can be done, but I've never managed it.

I have heard that the CPU Akuma in Super Street Fighter II Turbo is just about impossible (I have not had the pleasure of fighting him myself). He has attacks that the game was not meant to handle (he is also banned in Tournament play).

I can occasionally cheese it by positioning myself in front of the Ralari at the start and then taunting the enemy ships. I can sometimes get one of them to afterburn at me and ram the Ralari, killing themselves.

The raid boss Pandemonium Warden in Final Fantasy 11. The best guild in the game fought it for 18 hours and did not beat it.

The final boss in Super Mario RPG...

All the years I've replayed this game and all the high level characters I've had and with all the combinations; I've only beat him with dumb luck.
