What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Smile: I joined an on-campus enterprise group (A business that you get college credit for working for) this semester for game development. A couple days ago, I got to meet my team for the year, and we had a blast brainstorming for our initial design of the game. It was seriously one of the most fun things I have ever done at college.

Frown: My semester as a whole is going to be rough. 16 credits of almost nothing but core credits for an Electrical Engineering major is tough stuff.

I believe all of this math discussion needs to be put on hold. How about we take a Jimmy Buffett break?

This is very, very different...and much more productive...and...probably a lot safer...than the things I did for fun in college. It sounds like a lot of fun, however, and please be sure to share your game with us when you finish the project!

About this whole math debacle, a friend of mine was just telling me about a class he recently finished for his math major that basically was centered around the idea that since equivelancy becomes meaningless at great distances after the decimal point, that two different numbers can be equal, and thus become meaningless unless used at abstract concepts. In short, 1.999999(5 billion more nines)9 = 2.

It's not that abstract, this idea is introduced in basic calculus with defining limits and is pretty down to earth if you think about it. I guess it's a little on the abstract side if you're coming from an algebra mindset though. But then again, linear algebra is almost the most abstract you can get so maybe that's poor phrasing.

While on the Shantae kickstarter page, my daughter asked "Who's that?". After one try, she got her name perfectly, but that wasn't even the best of it. Afterwards, she grabbed her toy phones and pretended to call me to tell me, "Shantae is pretty. Shantae is prettier than Mario."

Having some serious issues with my VPS. Bringing work home with me.

I'm still trying to figure out what my daughter's first video game will be. She already likes to play with the Neo Geo CD controller (clicky stick!) and I figure she could nap during the load times.

"Clicky Stick" would make a good name for a Neo Geo fan site.

All of my allergies are combining, giving me a badass sinus headache. Blegh.

I had a good 45 minute talk with someone that isn't a close friend. I think that's the most social interaction I've had outside my comfort zone in a while.
