Like I would let her in my Gentleman's Club. Under lock and key it is.

Best part was he called last night mid game freaking out saying he was stranded at the gas station without it and then hung up on us. Apparently he thinks we are retards though since the caller id was for our home phone :X.

My A+ course was a lot of fun back in the day. Take 10 people from all walks of life and put them into a small room for 4/5 days of the week (alternating) for 2 months and make them all technicians. I of course having a small bit of experience in all that beforehand, made it no problem. It was just fun with such a small group of people and during down time we'd install DOS games on our newly rebuilt rigs. I remember finding F-117 Stealth Fighter and playing that most of the day when we were donejinx wrote:Man! Those were the days for me. Taking my A+ and studying for the Network+ exams was a blast, and it was all paid for. My school already had licensing for CCNA material, so instead of studying for the Network+, we were actually studying for the CCNA with all the ios junk cut out.
How hard is Network+? I know that of 2011 that CompTIA now requires continuing education on most if not all their certs.

Smile: Really enjoyed my day with my dad. Went and got a juicy delicious burger, then saw The World's End (awesome movie btw).
Frown: I really need to figure out how to stop being such a compulsive buyer. I just always have to be buying something. It's bad. I know it's bad. Yet I do it anyway.

Older. Not wiser.

That was basically my experience as well. They pulled me aside and put me in a leadership role, which is really odd for me. Our A+ course touched on Linux and Programming, but we took it a step further and installed Linux on all the machines. That was my first experience with it and I'm happy I was so experimental back then. Wish I still had that drive to explore anything and everything.ExedExes wrote:My A+ course was a lot of fun back in the day. Network+ was pretty easy like most CompTIA exams. Most of it is minimal knowledge with a lot of common sense. Since they try not to focus on a single standard (Cisco, Juniper, Netgear, etc) it tries to be as broad as possible. This means they can basically only cover things like OSI Model, different types of cabling and connectors, and how basic topologies communications works. You don't really get to delve into setting up the actual devices too much.
Of course, all of my experience was from when CompTIA certs were for life and things might have changed since then. Both A+ and Network+ felt very dated at the time, and we were in an awkward period where technologies were changing suddenly and rapidly.

Frown: So I had this exchange:
"Luke,
If and when you have a child there doesn't need to a reason other than wanting to see you and Emily and your new kid for us to drive to Greenville. Your being disrespectful to your sister and me when you say that you might stop by if your doing a comedy tour in Charlotte.
My response:
Hal,
Miscommunication.
I know Heidi is exhausted, and that you both have limited time with Harrison before you go back to work. I don't want to simply invite myself over, which would be rude.
Heidi has been oddly distant for quite some time, not returning phone calls, not visiting when we visit my parents, etc. It wasn't me saying "Maybe I'll stop by...if I have the time", it was me asking if I was welcomed.
Regards,
Luke"
One: I never spoke with Hal.
Two: My Sister has called me two times this year. TWO. One to tell me she was pregnant, the other time to return my several voicemails of "Just wanted to see how the baby is".
"Disrespectful"? Hal is a nice guy, but he can suck an egg. My Sister is the one not returning calls and showing she doesn't give an eff. When it comes to being self centered, man, my Sister takes the cake.

So you are also part of the old guard with the lifetime certs. I never got to do Linux but we touched upon all the other OSes available at the time. The textbook we got proudly displayed a Pentium III processor so I was a part of that awkward periodjinx wrote:Of course, all of my experience was from when CompTIA certs were for life and things might have changed since then. Holy S#!T. I didn't expect this.
I shared the email Hal sent me with my wife, and she is, to quote her, "F****g Furious". I'll still be the big boy, but this is a big step back concerning seeing my Sister.
"She doesn't return a call in TWO FUC**ING YEARS and has her PU$$Y A$$ husband send you a FU**ING EMAIL saying you are being disrespectful? FU*K them. They never invite us and expect us to show up without an invitation?!? HOW many Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, and baby gifts have we gave them, without a simple F***ing thank you? How many times have they ignored our calls? How many times have they forgotten our anniversary and birthdays? And they're F***ing RICH! They could get their maid to sign a card and send it off.
No. No no no. FU** them, and especially Fu*k hal for not having the balls to at least call. What a pu$$y. He didn't even talk to you. Fu*k them and I don't care to see them at all".
So yeah... I can't say I don't agree. hal is a pussy, and I'm surprised my Sister can breathe with her head stuck so far up her own ass.
