This is not at all correct. The Saturn is capable of transparencies in hardware, but there are some limitations based on how the different display processors, VDP1 and VDP2, operate. Since many developers didn't want to have to deal with figuring it out, they took shortcuts.

Visuals (concerning shadows and the life gauge) aside, the biggest problem with the Saturn port that actually affects the game is that of the AGGRESSOR activation. The gamespeed dips drastically which is ironic considering AGGRESSOR state nets you a damage and speed buff. Seems the shadow trail effects take a toll on the system for some reason.

Isn't there something better to play on Saturn than MK Trilogy that doesn't look like trash? :D

Yes. But MKT was memories for me when I was young. Used to watch my cousins play it all the time. and I had a blast just watching.

But now that I am older, I pay attention to the graphics.

I gave mk2 a try, and it sucks even more.

But yeah, I am playing better games now like x men vs street fighter.

Maybe Mk trilogy should have used the RAM cart, lol.

I actually think X-Men Children of the Atom is my favorite Capcom fighter for the Saturn. It was the first of their Marvel fighting games and was just really impressive at the time. Also, Iceman. He's like the only Omega level mutant in the game ; )
