When I was researching old computer games it seemed like the original line of Macs were the worst when it came to library and versions. There's some neat 90's Mac stuff though (Marathon).

I don't think you'd be able to do so without and emulator since modern Macs use Intel x86 CPUs whereas the Apple II uses a MOS 6502.

Well I'm not talking about the Apple II, I'm referring to old ass Macs.

But you're right, it looks as if an emulator is probably needed.

If you have like, a PowerMac or PowerBook G4 or G3, early versions of Mac OS X have a OS 9 mode and/or ways to just load OS 9 outright; that should run a lot of titles even from the very early period of Macs.

One of the earliest games I can remember was a black and white mac game...a basic one like minesweeper or something...I can't even remember the game but I remember playing on my mom's mac when she let me lol...I was really young...like 5.

My first real game memory was playing Mario 3 on the NES. Man I loved that game to death.

I don't know why I thought you were talking about the Apple II. Anyway, a modern Mac wouldn't be able to run the old ass Mac games due to Apple switching to Intel CPUs in 2005. You might have some luck with some of the Power PC Macs.

One of my childhood friends had an old Mac. I remember playing a couple fun games, most memorably one called "Island Survivors" in which you play as some people on a deserted island and you need to gather wood, find food, and build shelter to survive. I've never heard of anyone else playing it and now am not even sure it really was even called Island Survivors.

He also had Super Munchers, which I thought was way cooler than boring old REGULAR Muncher games we played on Apple II computers at school.

His family also got a fancy PowerPC Mac at some point and I remember playing the Marathon games QUITE A BIT. We split up the game to be two player by having one person move and the other person shoot and open doors. He eventually got a "deluxe pack" of the Marathon Trilogy with a bunch of other old Bungie games, like Pathways into Darkness (which was stupidly hard). If I had the space/resources, I wouldn't mind owning an old Mac to replay those old Bungie titles...

You don't need a Mac to run the emulators you'd need. Some of the older MacOS releases are legitimately available for free to boot.

An actual pre-OS X Mac would be easier though, despite possible 68k/PPC issues.
