Stay away from the buggy GBA port of IV if possible. Is it really that bad from what I hear? What would be the best way to play IV if you didn't want to do that or the SNES American "Easytype" version?

I play to play III on DS, but IV I'm conflicted on. I use to have IV on PSP and it was a great port and also contained The After Years, so I'd prob lean toward that one. Though there's something alluring about playing a version new to me via DS. So now I'm not too sure.

Either way, I'm not certain if I can stick with the chronological playing of FF games. I'm actually pretty tempted to play Four Heroes of Light and I've got Tactics A-2 on its way to me... or I could play some games that aren't FF at all.

Both of those are good.

And Final Fantasy Tactics A2 has the cheesiest game title ever.... It's the sequel to Final Fantasy Advance and thus should be Final Fantasy Advance 2, but I guess they couldn't call it that because it's not on the Game Boy Advance... So it's just A2 instead.

Good one! Does the PS2 save high scores on all of the games? The PC port only saves scores for 20 or so of them. The GBA port I recently acquired does nearly all of them. The PC port also has all the features the PS2 does. Commercials, boxart, manuals, promotional videos, and patches. The GBA port patch requirements actually match those of the challenges printed in the manuals, but the PC's requirements are a bit scaled back on the easier side.

That's a good question and I'm not 100% on it...

The various releases all have SLIGHTLY different games included as well. Take a look at the Activision Anthology wikipedia page sometime. It's crazy.

I have played a bit of FFTA2 this month. I was so into FFTA on GBA, but something's not quite clicking with me here. I'm wondering if it's just that years ago Tactics Advance seemed so deep to me, but that was before I played a lot more deeper tactical games.

The PS2 port is missing Bloody Human Freeway, the 2 prototypes, the Venetian Blinds demo, nearly all the Imagic titles, all of the homebrews? The PC has all the games. So glad I have that, but not too happy all scores can't be saved.

Re: noiseredux vs. Dreamcast (uh... redux?)

so I decided this year to quit "blogging." Instead, I thought I'd cull the 3 years worth of Dreamcast write-ups I did and finally put it together as an actual webpage like I had wanted to from the start.
