Video Game "Look what I found"
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Man I wish I would bump into a master system. Only "rare" system I have seen around here in the last few years was a CIB Odyssey 2, but I didn't even bother asking the price
. It was at one of the resellers stalls at one of the the local fleas and at the time I didn't know the owner to well so I usually just lumped him with the other resellers and ignored his stall. However now that I have gone through a few transactions with him I figure I could have gotten it for $20-30
. Anyways I did manage to snag the manual. Apparently it got left behind and I found it mixed in a pile of paperwork I happened to be digging through. Owner let me have it for free as part of a deal
.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
It seems odd with the amount of consoles we had when I was a kid. My parents had an Atari (God I wish I kept it) and we had a NES, Sega Genesis. SNES, N64, and my brother and I both had a Game Boy (I still have mine - it's the only original besides my GameCube and Xbox). It's odd because I don't remember my parents playing nor do I remember us being big on gaming till about the SNES.skate323k137 wrote:The saddest day of my life was when my dad would not let my aunt give me a master system with every US release.Aar1012 wrote:Agreed. We're expecting our first in a few months. I think he's set for gaming for when he's older. It'll be funny if he hates video games

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I just started searching for games this summer and the first flea market I went to in May a guy had one at one of the first booths I walked past. SMS, two controllers, like 3 boxed games and 3 loose. 3D input card but no glasses. I tried to low ball him at $10 and he goes "that's exactly what I was thinking!". Then I got a copy of MvsC2 for $3 that I gave to a friend who didn't have it yet (I did). My first day out doing this and arguably the luckiest, at least quality-wise.Fragems wrote:Man I wish I would bump into a master system.

Somebody brought one in to the new game store that opened up locally. The owner is a collector too though and he hadn't decided if he was going to keep it for himself or not.Aar1012 wrote:Agreed. I've seen them in the wild a few times around here through the years. More often I find the games though and like Genesis games they're not too hard to find boxed thanks to the clamshells.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I got three Wii games at Gamestop, yesterday, out of the 3 for $10 deal on select titles:
Red Steal
Red Steal 2
The Conduit
The Conduit was marked at $9.99, so I essentially got 3 for the price of 1. I was also "not" handed a manual for Wario Land Shake It, to make up for getting screwed out of the manual for it at another Gamestop out of state.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Not ashamed to say I have been "not handed" manuals in the past because sometimes the Evil Gamestop pulls the ol' switcheroo and gives you a case other than what you brought to the counter. I've had them try to give me Greatest hits versions when I bring up the original release (I'm picky about that), pull the manuals, and switch damaged cases or jacked up art work when I did not bring up a damaged case. Always check your shit before you leave the store when you buy from them.pierrot wrote:I got three Wii games at Gamestop, yesterday, out of the 3 for $10 deal on select titles:

Thrift store excellence
A few months ago I found some thrift store treasure. I try to check in once a week and normally find a game or 2 once every month. A few days prior to this find I nabbed 4 boxed games which included Pilotwings 64 and World Driver Championship. After that incredible find, I decided to come back a few days later. This is what i found.

Exactly 40 boxed N64 games for $2 each. That's $80 for you math wizards out there.
I swear I almost crapped myself when I saw these. Only a few of them came with manuals. A few notables...
Pokemon Snap 1 and 2
Harvest Moon (complete)
Most of these games I did not have and was super stoked to get DK 64 and Turok, both of which I loved when I was younger and borrowed from friends often.
