It was absolutely spectacular.
If I wasn't going off to college I would still be flying. It's just nothing short amazing. It's also nothing short of extremely expensive.

:) Watched some old Star Mazda races. Such a good series. Gonna miss it.

 My FMA:Brotherhood DVD set came. Gonna watch that next!
I have always wanted to fly. How much on average are the classes?

Classes can vary depending on who you go to, but I remember $6000 being thrown around while talking to a classmate who had her pilot's licence. I could be wrong though, this was over 5 years ago. I do know that it is really expensive.

Some small airports offer air tours though, and they are pretty reasonably priced. If you've never flown before (not including airliners) I highly recommend it. It is amazing.

FMA: Brotherhood is freaking awesome as well. I have the manga, and some of the first series but not brotherhood yet. FMA overall is one of my favorite animes.

My local airport has those but they start at $300. :x Spike actually filmed at the airport for their show Auction Hunters. :P

Jeez. The little airport back home starts at $65 per person for a 30 minute joy ride and goes up from there. It's a small airport and most people around my home are don't even know it exists.

Funny story: After Hurricane Katrina, President Bush actually flew in to the New Orleans area through this airport, and made my bus almost two hours late to school. We were excused (the local schools were warned before hand), but it was pretty funny telling people that the President made me late to school.

Nope, I missed the first two classes. It was about a month and a half after the hurricane hit I believe, so I didn't miss much. We didn't resume the actual lessons until the second week because a lot of the kids were still in shock. My area was very devastated and declared a disaster zone, and a lot of kids from New Orleans were there temporarily. It was a wreck for a long time.

It must have been horrible. It scares me thinking about when the "big one" hits LA. When the 8.0 (what they're are predicting) hits, It'll look like Haiti in LA.

My experience wasn't horrible, but could have been perceived as so. We lost electricity for a month and had no running water. Everyone on my street came together though and we cooked over open fires and played music with old instruments that had been collecting dust and made the best of it. The National Guard dropped MREs (the things the troops eat.) out of helicopters and watching that was pretty cool.

We didn't have flooding in my area too bad, most of it was tornadoes and wind damage. Trees were down everywhere, and we couldn't even leave our neighborhood for the first week.

It was an interesting experience to say the least. Not something I would ever want to go through again, but not something that brings me down when I look back on my own experience. I wish I could say the same for everyone though.
