Re: What are you playing?
Don't. I've put several more hours into it since I made that post, and it just been all downhill. Charlie Murder is probably one of the worst beat 'em ups I've ever played. I could write several paragraphs about everything wrong with the game, but it's not even worth the effort. I don't even know if I want to finish this game, in some vain hope that it'll get betterSnatch1414 wrote:Looks cool, thanks for the heads up. I'll probably indulge.Gamerforlife wrote:Spent about two or three hours with Charlie Murder today, it's like a mash up of beat 'em up classics. There's a level that plays like something out of Battletoads. Another stage feels right out of Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. There's even a shout out to Castle Crashers. All of this is filtered through that distinctive Ska Studios style. So there's a lot of rock music, ultra violence, and dark, otherworldly stuff like demons, zombies, and pacts with the devil and what not. And like their other games, they find creative, artsy ways to tell the story
It's a lot of fun, and more accessible I think than the Dishwasher games. If you've played any 2d beat 'em up in the past few years, this game is easy to pick up and play. The combat is really fun, and I give the game bonus points for having cool environmental kills which isn't something you see in every 2d beat 'em up. Grabbing a guy and throwing him into some spikes protruding from a wall to impale him is satisfying.
Fist Puncher currently holds the title of my favorite beat 'em up of 2013. It's better than Shinovi Versus, better than Charlie Murder, and even better than Dragon's Crown. It's the only beat 'em up I've played this year that was consistently fun while all those others I've mentioned have pissed me off repeatedly.

WWE '13

I love playing through the Attitude Era storyline and reliving the days when wrestling was actually good. But damn is this game challenging. I feel like a kid wanting to throw my controller half the time.
The game's A.I. is amazing, though. Last night I was playing as Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker in the famous Hell In a Cell match from '97. I have Undertaker down on the mat. I climb the turnbuckle and launch with a flying elbow. Undertaker sits right the hell up, just like on the show, and catches me mid-air, and turns it into a Tombstone Piledriver. Freaking insane! I was blown away. Then I barely freaking kick out, 1, 2, and half, kick out! Oh man! If you've ever liked wrestling, you really need to play this one.

Just finished the 2nd to last mission on Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. What a story twist as we near the end! That means I'll be on the look out for the next game, SC: Double Agent.
I've also seen ads for the newest game coming out soon. No Michael Ironside? No SC-20K? NO NIGHT VISION?! Wow.

I finally got a boss PC so I'm currently playing Total War: Shogun 2 with an eye on Civ 5 as my next addition to the hard drive. Shogun 2 is really cool so far. Just going through the tutorials for now.

Re: What are you playing?
I played Bioshock way back in 2009, but I am playing through it again this time for trophies. When I beat the game originally I wasn't into trophies and had a different PS ID. Now, however, I'm a trophy addict and want to get the platinum for this classic game.
I don't know what it is but this game is almost BETTER this time around. The game holds up very good for being an early/mid 7th Generation game. I had forgotten how creepy the game is, and I am really appreciating the art and design of everything.
I gave Dead Space my GOTY for 2008, but this was a close second.

Re: What are you playing?
Lately I've been playing Divekick, Muramasa Rebirth, Persona 3 Portable, Soulcalibur V, and Street Fighter x Tekken.
Love em all.
Also tried some Tales of Xillia, but I find it difficult to play long games on my PS3. Wish it were available on Vita.
Love em all.

Re: What are you playing?
My sugar mama (aka my wife) used some of her grant money from college to buy me a Wii U and a couple games. So, I've been playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (which is pretty awesome so far) and New Super Mario U (which is equally as awesome, but why do I suck so bad a side scrolling platformer's now?).
Also, on PS3 I've been playing Hitman Absolution ever since I got it free on PS+.
Finally on PC I've been playing everything......seriously. It takes forever for me to zero in on a game on PC seeing how my Steam account has more than 200 games in it. Most purchased for $5 or less.
That's about it for now.

Final Fantasy 3 (6) SNES - a MUCH grindier game than I ever imagined...I've spent the last six hours of game time in Phoenix Cave power levelling in preparation for the final dungeon of the game.

Well that makes me feel good about the use of money I pay in taxes and the growing national debt.Frag Mortuus wrote:My sugar mama (aka my wife) used some of her grant money from college to buy me a Wii U and a couple games.
