Agree, that is plain silly, why buy a console and never play it? I think if the Ouya fails, the online games will go away anyways leaving it worthless.Reprise wrote:I doubt it will ever be sought after or worth much.nikon_62 wrote:Is anyone else looking to get one and just leave it boxed? Maybe one day it will turn into one of those consoles that sold low numbers and nobody kept.

Anyone got numbers on how much the Ouya people pocketed in the process? Crowdsourcing can be a lucrative prospect.

You could say the same thing for the Xbox though, no?J T wrote:I don't see the point. Why not just make games for PC? Most people already have a PC and it has all the same benefits. I guess this is just my bias as an avid PC gamer.

I don't know what to think about it (other than I don't really need or want one) but if the android gaming platforms that Google or Amazon have been kicking around end up becoming a reality they'll probably bury the Ouya.
Re: Thoughts On the Ouya?
True. Luckily for console manufacturers most people would rather connect dedicated devices to their TV's and that includes consoles, and let's not forget the power of branding. The only PC brand that comes close is Alienware but their products aren't oriented to mainstream TV audiences anyway.Violent By Design wrote:You could say the same thing for the Xbox though, no?J T wrote:I don't see the point. I don't see a point into getting an Ouya. They pocketed some people's money from what I heard and that makes me not want to trust them.

Re: Thoughts On the Ouya?
Ok, so my development for the Ouya sort of hit a wall. Not the Ouya's fault, it's the software I'm using. It'll get fixed in time, but as of now it killed my interest. Haven't turned my Ouya on since the 3rd or so day after I got it. Then again I haven't turned on my xbox or various other systems for even longer, so that says more about my playing habits than the Ouya. But yeah, I've lost track of how it's even doing or if anyone's making money with their games.

Someone at Ouya didn't get the do-not-want memo it seems.
