Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I picked up a Dreamcast console w/power cord for $5 at the flea market. I don't have high hopes for it. It looks like someone dug it up from their yard or something. I'm in the process of cleaning it now (the shell is in the dish washer). The board has some minor corrosion on one of the edges. Someone definitely spilled a dark liquid on this thing. Keeping my fingers crossed but I'm happy to pay $5 in case I need part down the line.
Also picked up a coaxial cable and zapper for the NES for $8.
At the thrifts I found:
- Gamecube Wavebird (no receiver) for $3,
- Regular GC controller for $3
- GC Power adapter for $5 (more than I like to pay but I have a GC that needed the cord)
- EA Sports N64 memory card for $1
- Disk only Strider 2 for Playstation for $2.70 (REALLY wish this was complete)
- Playstation (model SCPH-1001, my fave!) for $7 (not sure if it works but mine is acting funny and I may need parts)
- My favorite find of the day was the Sub Zero/Scorpion bookends in the box from the MK Kollector's Edition for $9. I love the way these look and I have been wanting a set for quite some time.
EDIT: The Dreamcast was pretty trashed; just filthy as all hell inside and out but after I VERY thorough cleaning I tested it and it works great. Turns out I actually bought the AV cables at a thrift store a few weeks back thinking they might be Saturn cables. What luck! The Playstation also works flawlessly. Good day for finding extras for the hoard.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
A decent local craigslist find after a bit of a drought:

Nothing spectacular, but I only paid $2 a game, so at 29 games I paid $58.
I left about a dozen sports and incomplete games. I grabbed every SMS game he had. Most are complete, about 4 or 5 are missing manuals.

I have no idea how old that Apple is but for $6.50- NICE! If you haven't used a Mac then it's a good way to fiddle around with it and find out if you like it without a pricey commitment.jamespoo wrote:just got this $6.50
