Did you play the localized version of 4? It was actually a lot better than how they were handling the previous games. For starters, they finally stopped calling everyone by their given name, which always infuriated me for some reason (just feels even more annoying in a real life/yakuza setting than it usually does to me).

I never got around to playing the localized version of Of The End though, I wonder how they handled that.

Yakuza 4 wasn't nearly as bad as 3. One that really sticks out was there was a white guy in Yakuza 3 and in the subtitles they spoke about him as sort of an equal, but in the Japanese dub they were speaking of him in a condescending manner, using derogatory terms for 'foreigner'. I guess that wouldn't fare so well with Western audiences.
A lot of the changes weren't due to poor translations, but mostly things that wouldn't make sense to most Westerners. This happens both ways. The Japanese version of Red Dead Redemption has a lot of this because the Japanese don't really know much about the culture of the Old West.

Of The End had a lot of tongue-in-cheek Japanese humor that can't really translate to English, but they did a decent job. I wouldn't fault them for that.

I'm gonna start Yakuza 5 probably next month since it looks like it won't be localized.

Anyway, carry on about Dragon's Crown. Sorry guys!

Code of Princess isn't even half the game Dragon's Crown is. DC is in another league entirely.

Haha fair enough.

Can you grind in Dragon's Crown?

One thing I liked about CoP is how I could return to earlier stages to level up.

Yea. You can repeat stages and you will want to if you want to do side quests. :)

So how do these Runes work???

I'm totally lost on trying to get the Golum

Also the massive boobies aside, the sorceress is actually a pretty awesome character with tons of skills at the ready!

Just unlocked B paths (which apparently is also how you unlock online play). The game is considerably more challenging and open now and I'm really enjoying that.

You just click on the runes in the background, and the ones you have in your inventory should pop up by your character. Just click on three runes to get a spell (assuming that specific combination of runes works).

I just got mine in the mail today from Best Buy, but it didn't come with the art-book. Maybe pre-ordering it a day before release, doesn't really count as pre-ordering it?
Ill play it later tonight after my race (5K) and the first half of the Browns game.
I will try to have multiplayer unlocked this weekend.

I'd say Dragon's Crown is going to be one of my 2013 games of the year right here. I'm just blown away by this game. How does the game look for you PS3 owners? Because it's frikking gorgeous on the Vita screen. The thought of this on a big screen TV blows my mind.

There's a nice resurgence of the beat 'em up genre happening right now, and this is one of the strongest entries yet.

I got giddy listening to James Silva talk about next week's Charlie Murder on a podcast today and say how the concept was born out his love for old Capcom games like Aliens vs Predator and Punisher. Like Dragon's Crown, he tried adding a lot of stuff to the formula to make it more interesting and said it feels a lot like an rpg now.

Gotta love Capcom's legacy in the genre. Dragon's Crown owes a lot to Capcom's D&D games.

Will we ever see Capcom make another awesome, 2-d beat 'em up, or remaster one like Ducktales?
