If that was the pont you were making, it wasn't clear. It's also a bit odd.
You make a good point about Nintendo EXCLUSIVES sales beating 360 EXCLUSIVES sales but that is skewing numbers a bit. For example, the Call of Duty series on the 360 out sold the combination of:
Mario Galaxy(12m) +Mario Galaxy 2(6.36m) + Brawl(11.5)+Metroid 3(1.3m)+Zelda Series(9.34m)+Kirby (1.31m)+Donkey Kong Country Returns(5m)+Mario Party Series(10m)
Sure, but there are 8 or 9 COD games on the 360, so that's really not that impressive. In any case, we can agree that
its very important for Nintendo to have a huge install base to sell its exclusives...things really don't look good for the Wii U

Nintendo needs to do this in the US with the deluxe. They missed the boat yet again because they are advertising the deluxe for the same price but with a $50 gift card during Pikmin 3 release week. They need to get more aggressive with the pricing or else no one will buy the damn thing with the Xbone and PS4 around the corner.

I'm actually genuinely worried about Nintendo and the Wii U. This has the potential of being worse for them than the Gamecube (such an underrated console).

this is how I've thought of the Wii U since before its launch even. And same - I thought GameCube was great. But that didn't mean it was successful. (Successful in Nintendo terms that is). And on the same token, disregarding the lack of games compelling ME, I still think the Wii U is a system with potential.

... I mean I know it's still early and all, but I don't know anyone who bought a Wii U that isn't a member of this video game forum. On the flip, when the Wii came out I felt like every non-gamer I knew owned one before I did. It just feels like a really different launch.

I know at least 3 folks that aren't members of this forum and have a WiiU. But they're all pretty big Nintendo or at least LoZ fans.

I am the only one of my friends that isn't a big first party Nintendo fan to get a WiiU. :P

yeah, the point I was making was I don't know any 'non-gamer geeks' who have been sold on the Wii yet.

That's one of the problems with the Wii-U, marketing. To the 'non-gamer geeks', the Wii U looks like some controller add-on to the existing Wii. Everything about it isn't entirely consumer friendly including the name and the price.

The picture says it all to some soccer mom. "Cool, it's an iPad for my Wii."

Nintendo needs to become very aggressive quickly on a lot of fronts.

Heh. I don't know. I get the name confusion but I also don't. Apple called the 3rd generation iPad the new iPad. Not iPad 3 or anything to make it easier to differentiate from the iPad 2. And the 4th gen didn't get any special name either. But I guess Apple is just generally better at marketing.

There is that rumor of Nintendo buying Atlus. Would mean no more games like Persona or Catherine for PlayStation. And no chance of SMT games returning to PS as well. :P For a lot of people that won't matter. But for me that is huge. They're one of my favorite developers and publishers. I wonder former Atlus teams like Vanillaware could also potentially become part of such a deal.

You have a point, even Target is unsure what the WiiU is apparently
