Those shadowhearts games are getting up there in price too.
Yup! Bordersdown -formerly known as NTSC-uk- is a UK based website/forum concentrating on imports.

Imports being everything NTSC in this case.

So I've been checking out their BST threads... ^^

not bad.
More like $16 a pop after shipping. Still not bad considering my location...

The US version has the 2 modes. V-V you 'buy' powerups like Gradius, as the arcade was. Grind Stormer you just pick them up as whatever they are.

Red Racks
360 wired controller white $5
Clerk had never seen a wired 360 controller before. Explained how I was gonna use it on my pc. Who needs a xbox when you have a pc with a 360 controller?

City thrift out in Kansas
Gameboy to gameboy/lite cable $.99 plus tax
Cubix robots for Everyone PS1 $0.75 plus tax.

I always forget that Kansas thrift stores charge sales tax. Is not charging sales tax at non-profit thrift stores a Missouri thing or is charging sales tax a Kansas thing? Does your thrift store charge sales tax?

It's actually unique in that you can change the version directly from the game options. Though if that option isn't there, region switching might work.

The reason I wonder is because it's not just a title change like Tatsujin/Truxton. They changed some gameplay elements and balance in Grind Stormer.

It's been a while so I don't quite remember for sure but I think Grind Stormer version plays like a typical shmup with normal power-ups while V-V has a Gradius/Slapfight style power-up system.

EDIT: Yeah, Hobie beat me to it  .
