The sonic booms from things going over most posters' heads at speed in this thread is positively deafening.

GodofHardcore wrote: That's true. Actually, I happen to be an expert on Hentai. There are two kinds of hentai:

1) Joke hentai
2) Serious hentai

A joke hentai is a sexual picture of a character done just for fun or for laughs.

A serious hentai is a sexual picture of a character done for the sole purpose of the main purpose being a masturbating aid.
If some one is making a sexual picture of a character, i highly doubt it will be for laughts.

Early 3D does affect both TLJ and PS:T, but given how the characters are written&designed otherwise, it's clear that neither are supposed to have attractive looks

I couldn't find any bigger sized picture of her mug shot, but you should be able to see from that one that her face isn't attractive, it's not because of low poly count, it's because she's old looking
GodofHardcore wrote: I'm going to have to disagree with Chie. I haven't played the game but she's a sporty tomboy with a fit body. I know because I've seen the hentai. As for Naoto, he's sexually ambiguous but definitely not unattractive or ugly. Anyway, they're both slim and sleek as you said.
I don't think that the average male finds a short haired and flat chested tomboy to be attractive, even if she is fit and her facial features are appealing.

I thought this was a troll, but the conversation ended up being entertaining. I'll jump in and respond to all the tangents without even bothering with the main thrust of the OP.
There is a contradiction however: the majority of America is overweight or obese. Obesity is still the norm. Or, obesity has always been the norm, but what is considered attractive has changed.
Why does a fantasy game world have to reflect obese America? I say it shouldn't. If we're trying to reinforce ideals in our media, obesity isn't a very good choice! Combine this with a fact that most game protagonists have to be physically fit...
Which begs the question: what does a normal female character look like? One that doesn't look ugly but at the same time, not good looking enough to masturbate to/outrage the feminists?
Normal for the game world? Who knows. Normal for our world? Depends on the region. I'd say shorter than the average man, and...uh...
human female video game characters who are fat, ugly, old or a combination of all three?
Old and fat seem less likely because most game protagonists need to be physically fit. Ugly? That depends on your taste. It's difficult to find someone who nearly everyone thinks it's ugly. Unless you're in wal mart at midnight, it's as difficult as finding someone who nearly everyone thinks is attractive. Maybe more normal characters is better. If only I knew what that was.
Actually my opinion is that society has very clear indications of what is or isn't an attractive female while it has unclear indications of what is or isn't an attractive male.
Society doesn't think anything. Society isn't a person. Where are you getting your numbers when you say that 99% of males would be attracted to something? I like tall girls. I like a girl with a bit of msucle. I like long, straight hair and shapely hands and I think I have a fetish for arm amputees. Whatever. You want your fictional women to be less stereotyped, but you're stereotyping 99% of real men?
Or maybe there are more male developers than female developers and a male cannot represent a female in a fair way?
Then there's no hope for feminism at all.
Then there's Chie and Naoto of Persona 4 (and there are more "normal looking"
I think Chie is normal looking and very attractive, although she has only one of the features on my list.
I don't think that the average male finds a short haired and flat chested tomboy to be attractive, even if she is fit and her facial features are appealing.
Chie is seriously adorable. Is the "average male" just whatever you happen to be thinking at the time?

I don't mind short hair or flat chested women. I actually would take flat over DD or larger any day. But that's all just personal preference. And this probably isn't solving sexism in games. :D

Should there be more fat/ugly human female characters in games to make games less sexist?

No.

I don't pay attention to physical attractiveness of characters in games. I just want to blow stuff up/escape reality/have fun. If a game has cheesecake in it and it's blatant enough to get on my nerves I just don't play that game. Some games, like Mighty Switch Force or Dead or Alive 2, have sex appeal but it makes no difference to me. Making fat characters to counterbalance straight male-fantasy female characters seems like a weird breed of affirmative action to me.

I wouldn't mind seeing dignified, unexaggerated females in games I can just root for as characters. Alyx from Half Life 2 comes to mind.

Woah there, I can see someone taking modest tits or Bs, but flat chested over DD? I should smite you for such comments.

I could never decide if Capcom was trying to arouse me or make me puke.

Either way, it worked. I bought 2 more of them... which is the bottom line. There's obviously more money to be made by catering to knuckle-dragging, straight, white, cavemen like me than intellectually superior and enlightened feminists.
