It may be better to specialize in magic or physical. But don't take my word for it. There is some analysis on the web.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/672441-s ... v/66751506

Pretty sure agility will affect turn order, ability to land attacks, and ability to dodge attacks. Luck will affect crit rate, ability to land ailments, and ability to avoid ailments. Not sure what else they do. To me it is best to specialize in one attack type and up my crit rate, attack success rate, and dodge rate. As this will help me gain extra turns in battle.

I chose to go with dex even though mag may be the easiest way to blaze through random encounters.

Anyway, you are actually a little further than me. I am about 4 hours in. lvl10. Probably just about to do the first boss. Haha. So maybe my praise of the game is premature. But I just have this feeling that this is a game I am going to love. Still no deaths, thankfully. :)

@dsh I think you'll be fine with your approach. I've been heavier in the top categories and just doing Luck every once and a while.

I went down to the 3rd level of Naraku and got my ass handed to me, so I must not be ready yet.

What level are you? I had no issues with the 3rd floor. But like I said, I grind. And I talk to demons a lot. I've already done probably 10+ fusions.

I preordered and got my copy in the mail today. It arrived in decently good shape and got mine in a cardboard box, but I also bought a book and a copy of Blade Runner on BluRay that they had on sale for 15 bucks awhile back so that might effected that. I'm a little disappointed that the soundtrack CD only has 8 tracks and most clock in under a minute and a half :/ It seems that all the Atlus games I get with a soundtrack are disappointing as far as length goes. Oh well at least the book looks nice and the 30 dollar credit more than makes up for it. Can't wait to play 8)

Honestly I don't even know. I think maybe 6 or 7. I'll look next time I boot up.

Just completed a few challenge quests. Now back to the main story for a bit, I think. Sometimes battles are plain unfair. I've had to reload my save a few times until I was able to enter a battle without the enemies killing half my party before I could even attack. It was particularly frustrating knowing that there was a boss battle immediately after (with no break).

Reached the first terminal and also got the streetpass feature. Very curious as to how popular this game is in the US. Guess I'll see how many streetpasses I get in Boston.
