I believe another one of Level 5's "Guild" games releases on 3DS today too.

Attack of the Friday Monsters is the title Don't know too much about it though.

Yeah, but how many of those are currently hooked up and being used? How many would get hooked back up to purchase a VC game?

As evidenced by the strong initial sales of the Wii U, most Nintendo enthusiasts themselves have moved on. There's certainly outliers. don't get me wrong, but they are a distinct minority.

$10 is still a hell of a lot cheaper than the $180 the cart still goes for!

True...but $180 is still less than the price of a WiiU...It will be interesting to see what - if any - effect the release has on the value of the carts.

A few days ago on Amazon, I saw Earthbound listed at the lowest price, somewhere in the high 190s/low 200s, and maybe 11-13 copies available (in addition to 1-2 brand new, including that one listed for almost 20 grand). Now......30 copies available, and lowest price? 179.99. Oh and that one that was on sale for 20 grand? Now it's dropped to.....wait for it.....6 grand!!!

I knew to expect Earthbound to only be available on the WiiU VC when it was announced, but after supporting the Wii VC to the tune of a high three figures (probably more including that Pepsi/Rockband code promo from a few years back) i'm a little bummed that it seems likely to be a WiiU exclusive.

It would just be nice to have it on the same system as the rest of my VC games. Even if I get a WiiU I really don't want to transfer any of my Wii VC games to the new console, they are fine where their at. Don't really care about HDMI or gamepad play (at extra cost!), just hope, although unlikely, that after the hoopla dies down Nintendo quietly releases Earthbound for the Wii VC as well.

Up until mid June this year they had released a Neo-Geo game roughly every two weeks since last July. But with only 3 or 4 games from other systems released in the past year+, it seemed like they were just finishing off their Neo-Geo library.

Why is the Wii U Earthbound 42 MB? wasn't the SNES ROM like 4 MB? Did they make enhancements to it?

I believe every VC game has the emulator packaged around it. It's like how every old GOG game comes with Dosbox; if you've got a large collection of games you could have hundreds of MB of wasted space in Dosbox copies (assuming you don't take the time to edit the conf files to point to a single central Dosbox).

I'm guessing the seller is mistaken, but there is a copy of Earthbound (new) for around 295$. I think maybe they are saying new is like perfect condition cartridge only. No discription, though.
